I'm currently painting my big 1/32 F18C, using Lifecolour acrylics. Nice paints, but when sprayed onto the kit, there seems to be no difference in them. I've laid a Sidewinder in light ghost on the upper wings surface coated in dark ghost, and they seem the damn same! Three coats of dark laid down too. Frustrating to say the least. Maybe a drop of darker grey applied to the dark ghost to darken it a little. Any suggestions? Or buy Gunze

To be perfectly honest Andy, there really is VERY little between them shades anyway. I used Gunze on my Supebug, and as you can see n these pics, its almost indeterminable. Bottom is LGG... ![]() Tops is DGG... ![]() ![]() There is a line between the two running from the LERX forward, can you see it?

Top Superbug Mike. Yeah I can see the difference now...I have yet to get near the nose section and will mask that accordingly, so hopefully there will be some noticable progress. Thanks for your input mate. |

Same for my Hornet, I couldn't tell the difference (using Testor's paints) - see the WIP section. |

Having seen both of the colours applied its hard to tell which is which in real life. I do remember seening F-15's in those colours and that looked very nice. Its an matter of how the sun is on the colours to see the differance. Foggy weather there is no differance at all. And also after months in sunny conditions its fading as well. |

I had the same issue with Lifecolor when painting my Eagle. So i stripped the paint off and bought some of the Xtracrylics Light and Dark Ghost Grey, same thing there as well. There really is very little difference between the two colours no matter who produces them. Regards from the Swamp Eth |

This is my A-10 I did today. Its 48th scale and painted in Humbrol paints. Knowing 127 and 128 there is hard to tell where the line of the camo is. So just added 2 small drops of black in the tinn and started the final colour of the camo.
