Colour guide

Decal placement

Having seen the sprues it is petite and delightful. Not (yet, anyways) doing a Reds or Yellowjacks scheme is imaginative and bold. A lot of us 'certain age' old gits will enjoy the silver and orange scheme. Can't wait to get one.

If there's any justice, then they ought to release one in 1/48.

Quite pleased about the scheme tbh though guess there may be some disappointed.
Any idea of a release date please Paul?

I hate Airfix atm
Stringbag out soon + Angels Interceptor = having to spend money and add to the stash.
It is against my principles as I am supposed to be on a diet. :(

It's out of stock on the website, which means it could be available any time.

Airfix on Facebook are showing some signed Adam Toobey prints available at SMW including the Gnat boxart, a stunning picture of the Gnat gone vertical.
Looks even more impressive the right way up and with the extra space available on the print!

Thanks for that, I was getting a bit fed up twisting my head around to see the 'correct view'!

Q. Is this an all 'new' kit or a reissue.... I ask as I have, I'm sure, an old Airfix Gnat in my stash somewhere which if I recall correctly came with Red Arrows decals. I opened it fully intending to build the model (to go with a Red Arrow Hawk I had finished) but the tail fin was like a banana...

I haven't looked at hat kit again so a nice crisp clean new kit would be very welcomed and I'd buy two so I could build that RA version I so nearly started all those years ago.

All new, the sprues were available for inspection at Yeovilton the other week and it blows the old kit completely into the weeds.

I asked Mr Airfix on FB if there was a date for release.
He said it is slated for December :(

Great news... just what I'll do with the old banna kit now, I may give it to my 7 year old... only if she is naughty.

Remember that Hu.209 is cellulose-based, and that the real colour faded rapidly!

No, it isn't. Just popped the lid on a pot and tried it. It's an enamel, just like the rest of the enamel range.
