Evening all, Had an indifferent day down the road at Dawlish today for their annual airshow. What was alooking to be a cracking line up got hit with the loss of the Vulcan and Hunter (the latter replaced by a JP) due to technical issues a couple of days before the show, as well as the Reds and BBMF on the day due to weather, not at Dawlish, which remained largely dry if overcast, but at Bournemouth, where torrential rain flooded the runway at Hurn and prevented them getting out. Disappointing for sure, but what did fly was enjoyable and we got some nice close passes up on the hill. Today also gave me my first chance to try out my new 7D- could have done with some sun, but like what I'm seeing so far, though today was hard work in the conditions, so these aren't my best, but thought I'd share them anyway. Hope you like! Shaun

Nice as usual Shaun. Wondered where you'd gone. Obviously saving up for a 7D, very nice camera matey, and that's coming from a died in the wool Nikon guy. Trouble is you now need to buy a nice juicy 600mm F4 to get the reach back, mind you with all those giant light capturing pixels, you can just get a croppin, and still hold onto the res. Take care Shaun rich |

Not your best...that's a degradation from humongously brilliant to simply outstanding. Fab images as ever. peebeep |

Thanks chaps ![]() Rich, a huge compliment to the 7D indeed! I'm liking it so far, bit of a step up from the 40D, but I'll soon get used to it. No need for a 600mm just yet, as nice as it would be- the 100-400 L will soldier on for a good while yet. Had been considering a new body for a while, so took the plunge last week on the 7D. While I was at it, I threw in a 24-70 F2.8 and a speedlite too for portrait/event stuff; turned out to be a rather expensive treat!

Wallet emptying indeed, but a least it's all in good hands.
