And save my ammo for the day I can use it to say ,"Told ya". :D
It ain't gonna happen, believe me. I've invested considerable time, effort and some of my own money in getting L & C up and running. So have the other admins. There is more to L & C than just this forum which I'll be demonstrating on Sunday when I haul my arse 70 odd miles to Milton Keynes to set up a table for Automodellismo. There's other things I could be doing on Sunday, but I made a commitment on behalf of L & C and I will be honouring it. The idea that I might be 'moonlighting' when I spend whole heaps of my time keeping an eye on this board, making sure it runs smoothly, responding to enquiries and keeping out spammers is frankly offensive to me personally.

Save your breath mate .....Im gone
cant be doing with prima donnas
Now we know why no one comments !!
Eldorado,

I think you owe Paul an apology my good man. He is hardly a prima donna. He was just explaining to you about the other things he does to help promote L&C. I see no harm in that nor for him starting up his Revell site. Your argument about his dedication and moonlighting is totally unwarranted. So he is an admin here and an owner of this site and he is also one of the most prolific posters here but he is not allowed to pursue any other interests outside of this forum? Does this mean he should quit his day job too?

NONE of the admins or owners of this site are being paid and frankly they can do whatever else they want. The site is well maintained and well staffed with people who are passionate about the hobby and I do not understand why YOU give admins 24 hours to reply to a thread that hhhmmmmmmmm they may not have had a chance to read due to having lives outside of L&C and from this hobby. Sounds to me like YOU are the Prima Donna here my good man. Anyone who announces they are leaving a site proves that point. No need to be so self important. I suppose the other admins need to send you a personal apology for not meeting your deadline to reply then right? Amazing how you decided to take someone elses thread and turn it around on them as if they were letting you down personally. I persoanlly invite you to go and post at any other forum you choose to and I will guarantee you will diasgree with someone or something within a few short minutes.

I am very fortunate that they allow me to hang my hat here as a member, forum owner and sponsor. Why do I do it? Good people.

I have only recently joined this site, but I recognize Paul from other sites I visit. In fact the reason I am a member here now is because of postings by Paul on another site regarding L&C. If anything there is a possibility of attracting more visitors here from the Revell Ations site (which I have also joined) It seems none of the other admins. have echoed your concern and neither have any regular contributors here.
I look forward to visiting here often and I wish peebeep all the best in starting the Revell dedicated site.

Is this a private love-in or can anyone join in... Peebeep is a jolly good egg,

Truth is we are all in the hobby for different reasons and as Paul knows all too well you will never please all modellers all the time... so why even try...I find that L&C is a relaxed place where novice or expert is welcomed.

I also find it hard to believe any modeller can stick to just the one forum, it is like only ever going to one show...

I'm only active on L&C and Finescale. I'm also on Airfix Tribute Forum, Unofficial Airfix Forum, and Aircraft Resource Center, and maybe Hyperscale, Modeling Madness, and one or two others. However, it's only the first two I post on, and then rarely. In life, it can be hard to keep up with the sheer quantity of posts, and Finescale has a lot of those!

With regard to the comment about BM, it is quite fair, and true, that, if one was to exclude all the 'chat' posts, the amount actually being posted is significantly lower. On the other hand, to be fair, it does have quite a lot of useful information, even some by me (how to not build a Revell 1/48 Thunderbolt for starters!)! However, I would always recommend giving it a wide birth if one wishes to engage with a forum, as opposed to using it as a resource. L&C, Finescale, et al are all well run, although it's possible to have issues anywhere, and on any forum you'll always find someone carpet munching over another site. In every hobby there are egos and primadonnas - I think there was a case a while back of a stabbing over model railways or something like that.

This board software, Zeta, has one big problem for me - it doesn't work well with Safari (PC version). Text often appears half hidden, unless one highlights it, then it corrects itself.

I don't plan to sign up to the Revell site, simply because I'm busy, and have no special passion for Revell kits, if anything, they've disappointed me recently. However, I applaud Paul for creating such a site, both in terms of his time, and his money. I had a glance, and it looks good! It's such work which keeps the hobby going. Of course, if there was a Matchbox site, I might well join (memories of building Matchbox kits, and writing them a letter to say that I had enough points (some promotion that was on) for 2 kits, but 1 form, so, could they please send me 2 kits (which they did!). Ah, memories of those 2 & 3 colour kits! The last one I ever bought was one I hankered about for months, the Privateer, bought from WH Smiths top floor in Brent Cross, back in, oh, 1980?)

Anyway, the point is, cheers for this site, and cheers for the Revell site, and long may they both last!

Just to add, after reading this thread, I experimented, changed my setting to 'IPB3' and the Safari problem disappeared

Wally, you never cease to lower the tone!!

The level of activity on here is I think revealing - it indicates that almost everyone if in fact not all have other things in life than sitting in front of their computers all day - and this is jolly healthy. You don't have folk starting topics to boost their egos or strut heir stuff criticise the quality of a kit or announce that their goldfish has died. So all in all it is simply a good all round sociable modelling site with informed opinion good examples of modelling and a bit of fairly mature fun.

I admit too to looking at other sites - I don't feel disloyal and rather suspect that the "mods" etc. feel that if that it is matter of concern, it is for me alone - because again there is no indication on here as to who should do what with which and to whom and when.

So in short I am content. So what is that new site about
.........Oh yes - well I mean any company that can't get the dihedral right on a Lancaster can't be much cop can it?? So I won't be bothering. :smug:
