Evening all,

Spent the first of two days at VL today or the arrivals day. On paper, it had the potential to be a corker, but instead turned out to be a little indifferent, with the Aeronavale's spectacular arrival straight into their display being the undoubted highlight of a fairly slow and relatively uneventful day, in terms of the foreign participation at least. The 40th anniversary of the Lynx is the main theme of the show, and there was plenty of Lynx action today, with so many airframes up I lost count! I'll be adding some images of them and the other RN helos in due course, but my first instalment to the thread is of the fast jets and exotica that arrived today. Unfortunately, with the arrival of the MiGs yesterday, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to shoot them, so here's the remaining fast jets that'll be on show tomorrow. The French jets were awesome, with the Rafale nudging the sound barrier in one pass, resulting in a fair old bang! B)

Cheers chaps

Today's show was absolutely mega. I've gone through a few of the many, many shots I took from on base today. There'll be more to follow, but I need some much needed sleep ahead of Legends tomorrow, so here's a handful of edits for now.

Presumably the purpose of the French presence was to rub our noses in it by reminding us of what it used to be like to have a kick-ass fixed-wing carrier capability.

Cheers Rich

Kejun, I'm sure there was a fair amount of sledging from the French pilots in the crew room! They have two wonderful fast jets at their disposal, it was a real pleasure to see them put through their paces.

With a bunch of shots from Legends now added to my workload, I thought it best to crack on and edit the rest of my Yeovilton shots before getting stuck into them. So here's a final selection of shots., plenty more on my Flickr
