And about time too! This looks excellent, with a quoted price around the same as the equally awesome Meteor, so not too bad relatively speaking. This has gone very close to the top of my wish list (take note Vince ;))http://www.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=9219 A stunning looking kit of a stunning looking jet

I'm glad to hear of a new 1/72 Sea Vixen, but the price, ouch! The Meteor is undoubtedly very good, but it does have one glaring error (somebody didn't realise that the tailplane tips are actually attached to the elevator) and at the sort of price punters might expect something close to perfection. I might indulge myself with a Sea Vixen but I'm happy to mess about with MPM/Special Hobby Meatboxes and save a bit of dosh. peebeep |

I personally don't think the price is too bad. The Vixen is a much larger aircraft than the meteor, and as such will have plenty more parts, plus there's the option of wing folding. Certainly a little more bang for your buck with Foxy. I bought the Meteor last October, and while I didn't pay top dollar for it, a quick glance inside the box had me reaching for my wallet, such is the immense quality of the kit (tailplanes aside, not that I knew they were wrong until you just said it! ). I have the Meteor on the bench at the moment, and it's been nothing but a joy to build. I think I'd have to be physically restrained from handing my money over for the Vixen!

The early Meteors had horn balanced elevators, saw the tips off along the panel line and fix them to the elevator. If your not showing the elevators displaced it would be easier to fill the part of the panel line where the tip should be attached, if you get my drift. If the Vixen comes in under thirty quid I'll probably be up for one assuming it's similar quality to the Meteor. I'm intrigued by the other proposed releases. peebeep |

It's highly likely you will be restrained and made to hand your wallet over when Vince sees this. I also wondered why we were getting another Sea Vixen in 1/48th, till I realised you were on about the Dragon one. 1/72nd, God's scale my a**e richc

Actually a good firm press with a sharp craft knife is enough to separate the tips, which you then attach to the elevators. I was pleasantly surprised how quick and easy it was. |

Clearly, Mike and Rich are utter philistines! If God was a modeller, he'd build 1/72. He'd also use enamel paints, but that's for another thread.....

When you said God's scale I wanted to remind you that Airfix already did that one. Then I saw you mention little toy scale instead. I guess you didn't get the memo that God's scale is 1/48. Consider yourself notified.
