Thanks Steve and i agree with you on the HB Leo. They left out a lot of supports for the bar armour and imho made it look over simplified.

I have been plugging away with the PE, although due to a bout of "Delhi belly" i have not done as much as i wanted to :(

All the slat armour panels for the turret are now made up, the only area that caused a problem was the rear slat panel. This comes with two side pieces attached. However, the attachements are so slender they can easily break. Thankfully i do not think this will be an issue as i can use the support arms to line things up.

So i have concentrated on finishing the attachement points for the front of the hull.

The Eduard instructions have you use the bolts on the side armour as a location point for the slat armour mounts, but attaching the lower supports is very tricky, as is forming them. Take a good look at the instructions before bending these parts as they are far from straight forward.

However, they were the last parts i had to attach to the hull so now i moved onto the turret .

Each of the supports arms that are mounted directly onto the turret consist of six pieces, the largest of which, the actual arm, is formed from one piece of PE and has aroud 11 bends to complete the piece. It is fairly straight forward, again take a good look at the instructions and you should not go far wrong.

The two supports nearest the camera, on the turret, are multi bend parts to which you have to add two wire supports, same as the other turret support arms, a base plate and an upper attachement point. Another tricky bending operation made all the more difficult compared to the other turret support arms, because of how flimsy they are.

Finally the rear of the turret. Which has to be the easiest to work with.

There are four more support arms to attach to the turret and that should be it. I am thinking of standing the slat armour on some double sided tape to help with the painting, the support arms i will paint using a brush but i will use my airbrush on the slat it self seeing as it is not attached to the Leo.

Well over the weekend i managed to get all the etch painted and then installed. The installation of the bar armour was a bit tricky, but quite logical. Unfortunately, because i painted the bar armour before installing it, all the very fine location marks on the bar armour were lost. The only alternative i can think of is to install the bar armour first and then paint it using a paint brush, however i did not think of this before :(

However this was only a minor glich and one that is easily over come with some common sense and choice language :D

The following photos show the completed Leopard and i hope you all like it. Any constructive comments are welcome

Love it! Really like how youve got that Afghan dust look without going over the top! Ive got a Hobbyboss Canadian Leopard in the pile at the moment and this has really made me look forward to it, its going to be my first use of Nato three colour paint schemes!

The way i do it is to use the barrel to lift it a little bit, then hold the front glacis plate and lift if that way, other than that it would be too great a risk trying to pick it up any other way.

Thanks for all your comments guys, i really do appreciate you taking the time to post. Working with such good products makes it very easy to produce something good. I can totally recommend everything i have used here to anyone who might be interested.
