Finally building a model and enjoying it again ...and I'm pretty pleased so far with this build .. This one is the Tamiya Challenger2 desertised version .. main paint I have been using is the Xtracrlix British Desert Amour light stone ..to break up the stone I have painted the drive wheels in Bronze green ![]() ![]()

Awesome, I'm currently building the same model, its a great kit, only needed a few bits to make it better, Ive added the Lion Roar photoetched set for the rear grilles, added the wiring for front lights and replaced the string used for the cables with some thin brass cable. look forward to seeing more on this!

quick question, have you glued the top and bottom together with the side skirts on before painting? if so, how do you then paint the road wheels under the side armour?? I leave mine off until most of the painting is done but Ive noticed that alot of you more experienced builders have pretty much the whole thing together before painting, is there some big trick im missing? Looks great so far Sean. I had to read your post again, as the lightcoloured paint on first look , to me, looked like a resin kit unpainted. But on closer inspection its brilliantly subtle mate...nice one! |

Ta Matey Well after having to go out and buy a new comp ..I managed to get a bit more done ...Got most of the decals done with one mishap hopefully a bit of weathering will hide that . Also got the rear light clusters on just...still got to paint the light covers in Stone ...the oil drums I painted in Olive green just to break up the dull and boring stone colour ...one bit of good news finally the micro-clear has disappeared in the front lights ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very nice Sean matey. Like it alot I to do the wheels/skirt if needed before assembling the lot on some kits. But with others that have track that come's in single bits I fit wheels (dry) and track glued then spray the lot, when its finished weathering I mount the wheel/track to the vehicle. |

Cheers Chaps :thumbs-up: Right getting there slowly ...after fitting the rear R/H side light it was bugging me why there were 2 holes in it ..turns out a bit was missing ..so I carefully prized off the light guard and fitted said missing part then re-attached the light guard ![]() I also added the Smoke dischargers on the Turret ![]() Finally added the missing bits on the back of the tank ..also went about sorting out those oil drums ..I dry brushed the clamps with bright brass ...as for the holding straps I painted some Tamiya tape the body colour then added those onto the drums ...also i weathered them with Tamiya smoke added a bit more olive green with a drop of white paint and dry brushed on some gunmetal to make them look a bit scratched ..can't really see it ..but it is there
