Hi.

Having built the Trumpeter soft skin primemover for the 203 Howitzer in 1/35th scale, I found in my collection an AT 45 primemover in 1/72 scale(resin).

Useing the same top as the Trumpeter one with a T34 chassis I have been able to make another Russian primemover for ether the 203mm or the other heavy types used in WW II in 1/35th scale.

Hope to show pictures soon. :wooo: :D

Here the T34 wheels have been added, the detail on the T34 wheel base were removed and placed on the chassis of the trumpeter kit.

Exhuast pipe to add later with other detail scratch built.

The canvas cover has to be reduced showing the windows near the top, this will lower the profile to the correct height.

Posted Image
Cab altered with extra window in, other than that its strait out the box.

Note the new buffers that will be placed on the front beam, this was made up of plastic welded together and four nuts from spares box to each buffer , for want of a better word.
The track was made up from different kit sources as the original track sections from the box were moulded badly.

What tracks are you using, are they Dragon?

Howdy Steve :D .

The T34 model had bad mouldings on most of the track that came with it and having some Dragon spare track from an SU 100/T34, I used that with the good stuff from the Z/T34 kit, seems it is compatible and as you can see looks the part.

No point in wasteing good track and once sprayed will make no difference :wicked: :D

Some of thease vehicles had the early style wheels and some the later type, I used the earlier type, but have the later type which I might use for another conversion.

I see your busy to lol :D

More pictures with Track on and first coat of paint applied, other than primer that is.
Used Grey plastic primer from a can for first coat.

Side veiw.

Other side, note have reduced canvas cover and now need to make top for it.

The cab is still movable so'es I can finish interior.

I put some insulating foam to hold shape while cutting roof off, this also keeps the shape as it is abit flimsy.

Hi Foxy, PM me your membership number and expiry date and I'll put you on the list and amend your L & C member status. Oh, and I'll move this thread to armour and if I get around to it modify the forum to read armour and softskins.

I forgot to mention this is a cracking build.

Will be finishing the build and then on with the paint.

Was very good to build but there were a few problems on the way, one was the base lineup of the gun with the wheel base unit, had to remove the locateing lugs before fitting.

Still to add are a few items and am makeing this gun in the traveling position to go with the AT 45. ;)
