Hi.

A bit more sofisticated than we had in 1960's(end of), just the one GPMG mounted with radio's and maybe a Karl Gustf for company, that is other than our own personnel weapons.
Look forward to this one Eldo. :D

The intricate art of plastic model making begins with selection, separation and reattachment.
Like a surgeon we begin to cut,saw and separate the chosen piece some as fine and small as gossamer, intricate parts that form the whole each piece carefully cut out from its mounting to form a single entity and further worked by sanding down the area left by the cut and to smooth the surface back into a single line or face. Endlessly repeating this process over and over again each piece is then attached to another to form larger pieces. And the process continues for as long as one can bear. And the next day a repeat of the previous always aiming for the finish ,Each section built is destined to be part of the whole or a time when paint can be applied to each section of the whole, the final result.

Hi Phantom
as much as Ive done it would appear to be a nice clean kit.
As for technical issues I wouldn,t really know or be bothered about come to that.
However I have picked up from the dark side that the wheel mounted on the bonnet is not real. As the bonnet is made of fibreglass and in reality the wheel would crush the bonnet. So I will with a little mod be mounting the spare wheel on the left side of the cage,When I get there.
I am sure that there may well be more techical issues for the officianardos.but Ive never really been that true to reality ,the main reason being that not many real ones get put together with plastic cement
So Im happyto live in my own little world and just to do what Ive got and if I apply the wrong shade of paint or slice off a rivet than hey ho the rivet counters can call me a :wank:
I see elsewhere on the dark side that the kit has only been around a week and the so called experts have rippped it to bits for accuracy
Its a plastic model (Shades of Brian Conelly)

looks like you are off to a good start. I like your attitude towards all the rivet counters out there.

I have a couple of these and I am lookinging forward to making them.

Someone on the dark side has written that the kit engine dosnt have a starter motor. It dosnt.
OMG how will I ever start the engine. :deadhorse:

I try as much as I can to be faithful to the instructions of a kit ,working on the principle that the people who made the kit know a darn site more about it than I do.
I never follow the instructions from page 1 through to the end. I start somewhere and just concentrate on making lumps and reducing the lumps until I am left with one lump.

However I digress:
Its a loverly kit  NO its a brilliant kit

Steadily cutting, sawing, sanding and glueing towards the final lump.
The engine I may well add a few pipes and tubes.

great stuff! the only thing I have looked at on my kit are the tyre tread patterns, not too sure of them at the moment more research is needed. However to ring the changes it may be possible to buy some different wheels form accurate armour.

No not at all, my research has shown that these type of tyres are fitted. It just depends on the version being modelled and the time frame . These vehicles have been constantly changed to meet different operational needs and different weapons/equipment fits throughout their usage. Using different tyres would be useful to depict a different vehicle.
A couple of things which are wrong in the instructions are the rifle rack for the SA80'S in the front which on the instructions sits horizontally, the rack should sit vertically. Also the rear gunners seat should be on the opposite side, i.e behind the commanders seat and it's missing the radio table. Lastly the spare wheel is mounted on the roll cage not on the bonnet. However some things like the rear seat fitting etc may be different depending on the weapons fit/role intended for that vehicle. I need to do more reaserch into this before I commit to building my model.

All the above are easy fixes which will enhance the already superb model which hobbyboss has produced. Perfect for op telic, Afghanistan, Bosnia, or as I may do op forces SPTA

Here are a few pics of what I mean.

I think its time now to apply some paint .
Undercoat- grey
interior -green
exterior- sandy yellow
I read somewhere .over there ,that the drivers seat cage is not fitted ,so I wont then .

Those vinyl tyres are a magnet for iddy lickle bits of plastic detritus :groan:
