Libyan Mirages defect to Malta

The Malta Air Arm now has a combat fast jet capability after two Libyan AF Mirage F1s emigrated unexpectedly yesterday.

Both jets were carrying live rocket pods and the Colonels flying them have asked for asylum after refusing to unload them on demonstrators. :clap:

Good to see some sanity prevailing.

Doubt if the Maltese could afford the Fuel for them :wooo: ..saw this yesterday and a few Maltese are getting worried as they feel they might get some retaliation from Libya for allowing these 2 to land ... Oh my wife is Maltese and her family are out there .
If the Maltese keep them I reckon they will be painted Red and White same as the Bulldogs in the AFM :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

In the news since Thursday last week. The mirages where to be traded for an Dutch Navy helicopter crew. Maltha refused that, and the crew got savely home saturday
