How do chaps. Been tinkering with this for the last day or so. Goes together without any problems in fit etc. The tracks were a doddle to put on. They are moulded in 'link & length' style and fit into notches in the sponson sides. Tis a pity Emhar didn't think of this with their Mk IV/V kits! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I will deffo be building more of these kits, Leman Russ and ohhh the Baneblade!!!! Next up is to paint the beastie! Will go for one of the Warhammer schemes i've seen on their web site. More to follow once some paint is on. Long live the Empire!!!! Regards, Steve |

How do chaps, Due to the more clement weather here up in the 'Peoples Republic Of Yorkshire' I managed to get some paint onto the Chimera. The model was undercoated with a Games Workshop 'Chaos Black' rattle can. ![]() The can was sat in some warm water for 5 mins or so before spraying (can't remember where I got that tip from <_< ) as this helps it to spray better (apparently ) Once it had dried it looked more of a very dark grey, similar to Tamiya Nato Black. Went on nice and smooth though, but boy does it stink! Had my spray mask on whilst spraying, but the shed still smelt funky even after and hour of airing!Turret and dozer blade. Decided to add some battle damage to the dozer blade. ![]() If the weather holds might get some more done this weekend. Regards, Steve |

How do chaps, Have finally got round to putting some paint onto the Chimera! The base colour is Tamiya XF26 Deep Green followed by a misting of XF 4 Yellow Green which helped to lift the panels out a bit. ![]() After the previous trauma of having to mask up the entire tank when I painted the Demolisher, I had the good sense to mask the tracks first! ![]() The stripes on the sides are Tamiya Blue. This was sprayed and then masked before the main colour went on. ![]() ![]() And finally, all the bits together. ![]() Next up, the detail painting and some weathering. More to follow soon.... I hope! Regards, Steve |

How do chaps, Finally pulled my modelling finger out and had a bit of a tinker with the Chimera. Not too much done, just a bit of detail painting. ![]() ![]() You may be able to see in the above 2 pics that I've picked out a couple of panels in another shade of green. Don't know why... just did! ![]() Still got a fair bit to do and have to admit that progress may be slow due to 'other' projects, ie the garden! Regards, Steve |
