Hi all yep I am at it again! After spending most of the day going through the stash to see what I fancied building next I went for this little beauty.![]() Tis a smashing kit and nice and weird. I have not seen many of these Peoples liberation army vehicles made up on forums etc which is a shame as they are nice kits, I built the hobby boss ZLC2000 at the beginning of the year and really enjoyed it. Research wise there is very little available. Trawling the net for a couple of hours has only furnished me with a few images but then that's all the better to keep those pesky rivet counters off my back! more soon Pete |

Have been playing away with this today, I sprayed the insides dark grey as I want the cab windows on display and also boxed off the engine intake screens with plastic card. After the hull parts had been fixed I went over the model enhancing all the weld beads with a pyrograve. The suspension has been slightly altered to allow the first four wheels to turn slightly. Just for a bit of interest. A little bit more needs to be done to the suspension area to jazz it up a touch. The wheels are some of the best I have seen, nice detail and the rubber tyres fit a treat. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pete |

Cheers chaps more progress for you. I have added some brake lines and a few bolt heads to the suspension area, the brake lines are probably not accurate but who knows! The light clusters have had the small front running light and side light removed as I will replace these with clear and coloured lenses later on. Wiring for the lights and a small conduit have been added to the rear of the clusters. The lights have some very fine etched guards to go over the fronts but these again will be added after all painting is completed.![]() ![]() The rest of the kit has just flown together today, no problems and very good fit. I have changed the kit tow ropes with some wire left over from the LAV build and added brass retainers on the hull sides. Here you can see the difference between the kit and adapted ropes. ![]() ![]() ![]() The turret will need a bit of sanding and re applying weld beads. ![]() A real joy to build this kit, nice etched and great fit can't fault it. Cheers Steve, here's some more. The turret was finished off yesterday, I added fine chain to the smoke dischargers and went over the turret with a pyrograve to enhance the welds plus a few bits on the missile launcher rails. Lastly the rubber tyres had a light sand to remove a mould line. She is now ready for primer.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pete |

Thanks guys, here is some more. I sprayed the main colours yesterday using gunze sangyo H321,H303,H309 adding a little black to the dark green. A small amount of chipping has been added today as well as detail painting the tools. Just a little bit more chipping using lightened tones of green is needed then on to the decals.![]() ![]() ![]() Also need to clean the camera lens! Pete |

The vehicle has now had a couple of filters added plus a fine pin wash in selected areas and lastly some fading and streaking using oils. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Once the filters are dry I will start to add some dust and mud to the wheel arch areas and maybe a light drybrush on selected areas of the vehicle. |

All finished! can't believe how fast I am building at the moment, mind you being off sick does help somewhat! Yesterday saw me adding some of the new tamiya diorama texture paint to the wheel wells and lower hull. I used the soil effect one, a blast of buff on the lower hull and wheels plus a light dry brush and the weathering was complete. I kept it subtle as I did not want to loose that lovely camo. Finished off last night with matt coat and this morning picking out the periscopes etc using tamiya clear green. The lights on the front look particularly effective, I coloured the lenses with drops of tamiya clear colours. More pictures in RFI ![]() ![]() Pete |
