thanks for the kind comments Now on to the weathering. First I gave the Stryker a filter of Mig productions Grey filter for green. This gives the paint a nice faded look. Next I added some streaking, to do this i first applied little spots of Buff oil paint to the model ![]() Then i soaked a flat brush in white spirit, dabbed off some of the excess then blended the buff oil paint into the stryker paintwork using vertical brush strokes. I did the same using Mig peoductions wash brown oil paint to add some darker streaks. Scratches were also added to the paint work using lighter and darker shades of the basecoat. ![]() The next stage was to add dirt to the sides and rear off the Stryker. The styrker tends to get extremley dirty down the sides. To simulate this I mixed a tiny amount of Tamiya Flat earth with some Tamiya buff paint. This was then heavily thinned, around 90% thinner to paint. I then airbrushed the underside, sides, rear and front of the Stryker. ![]() ![]() ![]() The mine plow was also given a light dust of the Buff and Flat earth mixture. also on the plow I used Citadel chainmail paint to simulate were the paint had chipped off. ![]() ![]() In the next update i will put the fiinishing touches to the Stryker |

With the painting done all that was left was to add all the sub assemblies etc to the main body. First on was the mine plow blade. no matter how hard I tried I could not get the plow into the lowered position so it will have stay raised which is a bit of a shame. ![]() Next was the remote waepon station ![]() Then I added the tools and the lane markers. I also made a few starps from jammy dog masking tape and added them to the side panels. ![]() ![]() Finally I added a couple of ration packs and a coke box. The ESV strykers tended to have little or no stowage on them. ![]() and that was the ESV Stryker finished. All I need to do now is make a basic base on which to display the Stryker, as with all armour they look better when on a base. Here is a picture of the finished ESV Stryker, I will post more pics once the base is done ![]() |
