defiantly a very complicated set up for the suspension assemblies, they look as if they could actually work. Nice work so far

Pete, the levers are free to rotate but unfortunately there's insufficient give in the springs for it to work like the real thing. It does mean you can set the wheel position to suit the tracks once they're on.

Ah,Sean, don't be so mean to poor little Paulie.
It's his blimmin' fault, for "volunteering",to do it...
Stick to Airfix Spitfires,PB,they're a LOT less hassle. :yahoo:
Actually i like the Tristar idea of separate Tyres as they are the one thing about Panzer IV's that drive me necking futs !! :mental: (Painting the b'stards !!)
C'mon Pablo,you can do it,karma,now..
"Ohmmmm"
Cheers Bazza.

Volunteer? That's a good one. Vince made me an offer I couldn't refuse, plus a bottle of Tamiya Extra Thin (thanks mate, I now understand why everybody says this stuff is the best thing since sliced bread and have been using it extensively on this build).

Thought I'd better post some progress pics before Vince thought I was slacking. Something tangible at last:

Everything about this build is slowed down by the complex engineering, but it is a blast to work on it.

I got some paints from the new Hobbycraft branch in Chelmsford today, will have to start thinking about loading up the airbrush to paint the interior.

Ain't you FINISHED it yet,PB ??
Believe me Pete,(S.S),the Interior is MORE complex than what you can see, pity the whole thing gets boxed-in (literally!!)
Good work,so far, only 3 weeks left.... :deadhorse:  :whip:
Cheers Bazza,the Bad !!

Well it did get finished (of sorts) at 1.30 a.m. of the morning of the day in the hotel room. Yes the tracks were a bummer and the main reason I kept putting it off, but having done this one in for a penny, in for a pound...

There's lots that could/should have been done with it but this tanky, tready stuff is a black art IMO. The kit itself is fantastic but the instructions deserve to be cut into pieces about 100x100mm and hung up on the wall of your bog.
