Here is some more commission work for you, the italeri 1/35th German horse drawn convoy.

This is going to be built minus horses so quite a straight forward build. Apart that is from the large amount of ejector pin marks plus rather crude casting of some parts. I believe this is the old ESCI kit so it's as old as the hills and boy does it show it!

The wheels are particularly bad with seams to get rid of on each spoke plus pin marks on the front faces of the spokes too.
I started last night and have just finished them both, fit was pants and I had to sand loads to get a decent fit of parts. Some small additions have been made and the seats have had cushions made using magic-sculpt.

Next up will be painting, one in grey with winter white wash over the top and the other in dark yellow with some camo added, oh and a load needs making up for the cargo version
Cheers

These models like the rest I have built for commission lately are destined to be used as painting and model masters, the chap I do these for produces 1/30th collectors figures and vehicles. These will eventually end up in a factory in china and used as guildes to produce 1/30th versions and to show the factory how my client whats them finished.

When he produces figures he uses living history groups to pose for pictures and the factory sculpts the figures, I assume he will do the same for horses. I quite enjoy the process of building for him as he does choose some interesting subjects which nobody else does.

Cheers guys, here is an update for you, after priming the models I have sprayed the basic colours onto each carriage. The ambulance version received a coat of tamiya German grey followed by a good coat of hairspray through the airbrush then a coat of gunze off white. Once left to dry for a couple of mins a stiff wet brush was used to get the worn white wash look.

The cargo version was sprayed again with tamiya colours.

Now the work really starts with some additional chipping to replicate a worn appearance.

Thanks guys, Eric glad you like my site. Today's progress on the kits. As you can see I have removed both draw bars from the models as the client wants them resting on the ground. It's also handy as they can get in the way.

I have added some some chipping using vallejo old wood to the cargo version plus some selective scratches with a fine brush, a blast of klear and the decals added. Also a little bit of vallejo iraqi sand was added. Next a couple of MIG filters followed by a pin wash.

As you can see all the elements have toned down the overall colour of the wagon.
The ambulance version has had some more chipping added with a fine brush, klear and decals then a dark pin wash in all those lovely recess's. The wheels of both wagons have had a similar treatment.

Next up will be a pizza cos I am starving then some beers and telly!

Well finished off the wagons this morning, used a mix of tamiya colours thinned heavily and MIG powders. The load for the cargo version is made up of resin, plastic and tissue paper items. More pictures in ready for inspection
