Right can someone give me a guide to re-scribing a model , the Jaguar I was doing had an accident with a hammer after I looked at my pathetic attempt of re-scribing it ..put it this way on how bad it was . I saw Clapham junction with all 24 platforms on it
I've tried to get dynamo tape and cant find any also I've bought a new scriber that failed
So could someone show me how to re-scribe a model

Sean- golden rules

Rescribe everything you can BEFORE you even attempt to close wings and fuselages etc (on a Monogram type model)

This leaves only the bits that go "over the top" or "around the bottom." This is quite easy unless you are techniqe challenged.

Firstly- DO NOT scribe heavily- this is tantamount to disaster- use a sharp tool (if you know any) and let the weight of the tool do the cutting- ot your wrist action.
Under a wash, even a very fine line looks great- whereas heavy trenches look shite

After scribing, lightly sand the surface, then flow a tiny amount of liquid cement down the line to reseal the surface and partially restore a "skin."

Get yourself a 'P'-Cutter and a pin vice:

The 'P'-Cutter is suitable for most re-scribing but you will need a sharp needle in the pin vice for awkward places. I think snchobbies have the Tamiya version of the 'P'-Cutter.

I've got spare Dymo tape you can have, but if you want to buy some then Staples should stock it. I've got some ally straight edges that I got from The Works for a couple of sovs and strips of plastic card can work just as well as the tape, although there is no doubt having something that can be stuck down is very useful.

Ayup All...

TBH, all I use is a Bare-Metal foil scriber, Dymo tape and a SAM flexible ruler. I just wish there was a machine to peel the backing off the Bloody Tape !

GRRRRR !
