Evening all,

Inspired by Gary's lovely lightning build, I thought I'd share some pics of '728 and a few of her friends from last August's Cold War Jets Open day at Bruntingthorpe. This was my first time seeing a Lightning under it's own power, so you can probably imagine how much I enjoyed the day!

Was the first time I had seen a Bucc and Victor turning and burning for a good few years too

If you've never been to one of these open days, I'd thoroughly recommended it. The next one is at the end of the month, and there's a chance their Nimrod will arrive in time to do a run

Cheers

Shaun :)

What a place that Brunty is. Went there myself for a Cold War day a few years back and the earth literally shakes.

Great pics Shaun

Cheers guys :)

Sean, I think entry was either £10 or £15, can't remember now :hmm: The aircraft generally do a run every half hour between 11 and 4ish, so there's always plenty going on. Excluding the Victor and Comet, all the aircraft are parked up crowdside, so you can get up close and personal with them in between runs. I'd say it was pretty difficult to get any closer to these sort of aircraft. Well worth a visit :)
