Chaps, I'm building a Cobra 427 in the traditional Guardsman Blue. Can anyone recommend a suitable paint for this?

Thanks!

Maybe worth a trip to Halfords for a rattle can .. is it the Bright Metallic blue colour ?
If so one that might match that is Renault Electric blue

There is occasionally discussion on what body colours are 'correct' or 'period'; being a sad so and so, I saved this info a while back, mostly off the web but also from the Legate book; thought it may be of interest?

Do you know the nearest Humbrol paint, per chance (or a reasonable guess?) I'm guessing 52 (metallic blue), but I'm not sure how close this is. Is it easy to tone this down? I've tried using car paint before, with awful results. Thanks chaps!
