Started this a few weeks back (thought I'd started a thread). I call it a background build as other things take priority over it, but it chugs along slowly in the background

Nice one...

I haven't build much in the way of armour (does one panther count) but have always had a soft spot for this vehicle and the British Quad tractor...

It's the Airfix 1/32 Rommel's Half Track 06360 :P
My first vehicle in this scale :wicked:

Cheers Ratch

Good progress thus far. I might need to check these old Airfix goodies out some time.

I'm impressed

So far, every bit as good as the Tamiya Cromwell I built earlier this year :coolio:

Its a cracking kit, like you say Ratch.

I built one a couple of years ago, I hope this proves to be of inspiration/useful to you...

I don't really do BIG MODELS, but I'm developing a real liking for the Airfix 1/32 Multipose Figures and AFV kits.....They are very old-school compared to modern 1/35 stuff, a bit like giant 1/72 kits, but with so much scope for detailing or diorama work. B)

All the best

I remember that Mike, and very nice too

At the moment I'm undecided whether to stick with Rommel's Greif, or I have another reference from Libya with a bit more Panzergrau showing through the Gelbbraun :hmm:

The latter option would be a good excuse to give the 'Salt' and 'Hairspray' techniques a go mate. B)

Just a thought, all the best

And there's more...

With the main part of the assembly complete, it was time to decide on the finish :tease:
I've gone with the Rommel option :P

It would be a shame not to use the figure :mental:

Hopefully, the Gelbbraun overspray is dense enough in places yet allows the Panzergrau to show through in others :frantic:
