Someone has to go first so I'll jump in!!...this is the ancient Lindberg 'Star Probe...USS Explorer' model from way back in the mists of time....It's been released several times under different names and this is one of the earlier kits. Although basic, the surface is covered in amazing detail, albiet raised with panel lines and tiny rivets everywhere.....not really shown in these pics, better ones to follow.
I'm going to ditch the old yellowed decals and either spray and decal it as an alternative Apollo ship or a USAF 'ultra ICBM' in full SAC markings. Eventually I'd like to build a launch pad diorama as well, long term project this one!!....primed and ready for paint...decisions, decisions :hmm:

Cheers,

Andy

Well done General. I was beginning to think I might have to do something about filling this gap myself. Whatever next?

I can remember these old Lindberg kits way back when God was a boy, but never actually bought any. The thinness of the fins is impressive, is that how they come or was some treatment required?

Now all we need is some more reviews. Come on chaps, you know you want to.

Thanks Peebeep, actually the fins are that thin! The whole thing comes to pieces too, 3 separate stages complete with engine nozzles, the whole thing is designed to fit together without glue....ah the good old days!!
All in all a nice basis for a diorama..
