After some advice guy's, My son bought be the Nitto Kagaku BMW 3.5 CSL (1/16) for fathers day, I have dug it out of the stash and the decals are brownish in areas.
I think I read some where that putting them up at a window may help whiten them again.
My question is, is it just a daylight window, or direct sunlight (not that there is much of that on the fellside at this time of year).
Hope my ramblings make sense.

Ian, any exposure to UV should bleach out any discolouration, so even if you're not on the sunny side then you should be able to cure the problem.

yeah, agreed... I've done that a few times on yellowed or browned decals and it works fine. If it's not sunny, it just takes a little longer to work. I found that 2 to 3 days usually works, but pop them in a window and let the light do it's work. I check them each day just to see what is happening.

The best way is to tack them to the glass with some masking tape, but at this time of the year it can be tricky if you suffer any condensation forming on the windows...

Karl.

I used to pop discoloured decals in a clear poly bag and leave them on the rear parcel shelf of the car.

As the car is parked up for most of the day whilst I'm at work, I found that in high Summer (remember them) it would only take a day or so to bleach out the discolouration.

Beware though if you don't use them straight away, it doesn't take long for the discolouration to start again.

Happy modelling
