Young Enough To Know Better - Guy Penrod Went to a concert of Guy Penrod yesterday, and it was great! We must have clapped for 11,000 times at least. Seriously, it was a really great concert. He obviously wasn't there to sing a few songs, he was there to pass on a message, whether through words, songs or actions. It was brilliant. My mum had been a bit sceptical at first - she wasn't really a fan of Guy Penrod - but after a few songs I saw her stance change and after the concert she told me Guy Penrod had a new fan.

11,000 congrats! Really? Good for you! I guess this was an important concert for you. (I know who is Guy Penrod ) I'm happy your Mom is a new fan. Mothers tend to be sceptic ... but we let ourselves be convinced. Miss Z, could you explain more about the concert? Two things to remember: 11.000 posts and the concert. Together here. Thanks Teresa! Yes, it was a special concert. My father was unfortunately ill, so he couldn't come along, but my mum and I loved it extra for him. First thing out of my mum's mouth when we came home was: you really missed something! To which my father responded dryly: Thank you, I'm sure I did. Ehm, well, he started with a couple of songs that come from his Gaither Vocal Band years. Can't remember exactly which it were, but I know "He's Watching Me" was one of them. Then he prayed. We sang a couple of songs with him. He sang a few songs of his new CD, and showed some pictures of his family. That was a funny moment actually, because the pictures had been shown in the background a few minutes before, but he hadn't seen them. So then he asked where his family was, and when it was said that we'd already seen them, he asked them to put the pictures up again because it had been 10 days since he'd last seen them already, and he wanted to see them again. Anyway, at some point there was a break, someone from Compassion International had a small talk, I met an older lady who I keep running into at these kind of concerts so I talked to her for a bit while drinking my coffee . Then the concert continued, Guy asked if there were people who'd been married for 40 years - yup, couple of hands went up; 50 years - yup, still a few hands were up; 60 years? Yes, two couples! Guy told them they were his heroes. Anyway, then he sang a love song (Even When We Do) for the married folks. A while later he told us this one was for the younger folks. Someone behind me started cheering, so Guy said something like "I hope I'm not going to disappoint you, but it's not going to be the head-banging style" - and he threw his head back and forth to demonstrate. That was funny. Anyway, that's when he sang the song "Young Enough To Know Better". He also sang "The Broken Ones" - I just love that song. Anyway, he sang some more, prayed again, ended with "The Old Rugged Cross Made The Difference"... then of course had to come back to sing some more, and he sang "Because He Lives". Anyway, it was a beautiful concert, I loved the fact he prayed both at the start and at the end, and that he didn't just come to sing a few songs but to really pass on a message. Teresa, I hope this was enough information? In case it wasn't, he also sang this song: Are You The One - Guy Penrod |

THANKS!!!!I felt that your concert's explanation "It was brilliant" wasn't enough. You needed to explain... and I wanted to read. Now everything is perfect. Sorry for your father. I hope it was a minor illness. I've to discover a Guy Penrod as a singer. You can remember another concert's song: Because He Lives - Gaither Vocal Band / Guy Penrod
