Cool, I didn't know 'ona' meant 'wave' in Catalonian (how strange, I speak fluent Catalonian after all... :giggling: )
I'm pretty sure it has no meaning in English though. Not in Dutch either (as far as I'm aware).

A zeilfanaat must know waves, seas and winds in all languages.
Or do you sail between dykes?

As far as I know it doesn't have a meaning in English, but apparently its origin is Slavic and its meaning is 'Grace'.

Ona means wave, but it's a nickname of Maria: Mariona.

:giggling: Wow, sounds like I have a lot of learning to do!
Haha, well, in a way I suppose I do sail between dykes. ;) I don't sail at sea - at least, have never done it. Would love to though! :D I usually sail on lakes (although if you know The Netherlands, I have sailed on the IJsselmeer).
