If Red Risotto is a Z's recipe, I only can imagine rice and ketchup.
Hope it's a recipe from her father. :giggling:

:bellylaugh: Nope, neither of our recipes (and no, it doesn't include ketchup, which I'm not a big fan of in any case. ;)). No, red risotto is basically just risotto, but it is more spicy, and kind of gets a red colour when you're making it. I love it! Although I've only seen it in the supermarkets in France so far...

:giggling: Me and giving a recipe, never thought I'd live to see the day. Still don't think so actually, considering the 'red risotto' is just available on the shelves at the French supermarket. ;)

You can always copy and paste the instructions.

I spent my life teaching my son and my daughter to be independent: cooking, ironing, washing ... And I got it!
Now you .... :gaah: :hmmm:

:bellylaugh: :hanghead: Sorry for giving rise to such despair. I am as we speak becoming independent in the food department (I think I may even be able to let water cook now instead of it being burnt  - oh, and if I am really lucky, the kitchen will survive the onslaught too! ). As for ironing and washing - we are slowly making progress in that area too, although I must admit, cooking is currently emphasised. This may, in part be, because my mother sincerely detests cooking, and is hopeful I may in the future take over that chore altogether. ;)

Now, on to a question that's been plaguing me since I saw your post: what's Xuxo?

My mom always hated cooking. She did a lot of cooking classes but each day my dad cooks. Some weekends I cook for several days and for the whole family. The happiest is my dad.

A xuxo is a kind of brioche, with sugar outside and custard filling.

My mom taught me, my sister, and my brothers to cook and to do laundry. Although she detested ironing and never did it (you stick it back in the dryer to get the wrinkles out :P ).

:giggling: Well, the (normal) risotto and salmon turned out pretty nice today...
