Character Details

Name: Fausto Prial
Race: Human

Appearance: A young man standing at 5’8”, with messy, black hair and a somewhat lanky build with some muscle definition. One of his eyes appears to change color with his moods, the other is brown but changes color and pupil shape when activating certain abilities. Wears a royal purple blazer, tan pants, a white shirt left untucked and opened down to mid chest to reveal his pecs, black wingtips, fingerless gloves and square glasses. A patch resembling a lavender rose with a skull in it has been sewn onto the blazer, over the spot where his school’s logo should be.

Personality: Fausto is an ambitious, talented, and intelligent young man with the smile of a madman. He seems to have a great deal of spirit and doesn’t appear to worry about anything. He is often skeptical of other people’s motives, but it willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

He has a commanding presence. When he speaks, people listen. He isn’t one for breaking rules for no good reason, but it isn’t hard for him to find one. He tends to be a selfish person, though, although he sometimes finds that looking out for number one also means taking care of the other numbers as well.

When it comes to danger, Fausto is practically a swashbuckler, leaping into the fray with a cavalier attitude. However, he easily becomes irritated when things don’t go his way, and it takes him a moment to regain his composure. As easily flustered as he is, he can be surprisingly patient when it comes to the waiting game.

History: Fausto’s childhood was relatively normal until he was kidnapped by a cult. They were set to torture him to death as a sacrifice to their dread god when the police stormed the compound. Unfortunately, the shaman managed to stab his eye with ceremonial dagger, and he’s never been able to see out of it quite as well ever since. On the plus side, it seems to have imbued him with strange magical abilities that only work with that eye.

Fausto first met Crisis when he was seated next to her in homeroom back in junior high, but paid her little mind until their PE class had them play dodgeball. She hit him in the face with a ball, starting a bitter rivalry that resulted in many a game ending with them the last two standing. It soon extended beyond dodgeball, and they competed against each other in pretty much any way they could. He was surprised to learn, however, that she saw him as a friend rather than just a rival. Once he managed to wrap that around his head, he decided he liked her, too. Eventually, they got along so well everyone thought they were dating, so they decided to go along with it.

Battle Data

Battle Style: Fausto carries a “switchblade” comb that he uses as a medium to create an Aether Blade of violet energy that he wields like a rapier. He favors quick, accurate strikes and nimble parries. He has various special “Modes” that change the color of his eye and augment his abilities, but he can only switch at the beginning of his turn.

Special Techniques and Equipment

  • White Eye: When Fausto’s eye is white with a triangular pupil, his field of vision expands 360 degrees and he can see things that are normally hidden from view. This eye also turns his blade white and allows him to parry ranged attacks,
  • Red Eye: When Fausto’s eye is red with a star-shaped pupil, he can view a statistical analysis of anything he looks at. This turns his blade red and gives him a greater chance to strike an enemy’s weak point.
  • Blue Eye: When Fausto’s eye is blue with a rectangular pupil, he can instantly learn any special technique used against him. Anything requiring access to special powers, forces, or equipment are unlikely to work without them, and he can’t learn anything involving teleportation, Alter Egos, or (ironically) eyes. He may only use these techniques in Blue Eye mode. His blade is blue in this mode as well.

    • Crisis Rush: Copied from Crisis. Fausto can magically increase his inertia and momentum when he runs or jumps, allowing him to cross long distances easily. However, actually attacking with this speed can hurt him, so he will usually stop the effect before doing so.
    • Spirit Tether: Copied from Eternity. If Fausto touches a part of someone’s body that is touching another surface, it becomes stuck to that surface. Outside of combat, the effect lasts until Fausto dismisses it or the end of the thread or event, whichever comes first. In combat, if the surface is movable or if the target is only slightly hindered, this effect lasts three turns and doesn’t count as an immobilization effect. Otherwise, it only lasts one turn.

Union Technique: Green Eye
A green eye with an hourglass-shaped pupil. Unlike other eyes, can only use this effect while responding to attacks on allies and his eye remains normal until his next turn. This eye stops time just long enough for him to intercept one attack.

Ultimate Technique: Violet Eye
A violet eye with a spiral pupil. When Fausto locks eyes with his target, the pupil swirls for a moment before emitting a brilliant flash, instantly hypnotizing anyone who gets an eyeful of it. Fausto may then issue a command to his victim by the end of his next turn that must be immediately carried out in full. Depending on the will of the victim, certain commands (like “Kill yourself”) may simply cause the spell to break. Anyone hypnotized in this way may not be hypnotized again in the same thread or event.
