I was wandering what you guys, thought about the story. me I think of parents did not want a child then they should not have sex or gave the kid up. these kids are either killed or scared for life.

Posts: 1,750 Group: Members Member #33 Joined: December 11, 2004	I dont think that is that easy to define pun - firstly it is not always parents who will do the abusing (stranger, family friend) Personally i think that any form of child abuse (but particullary sexual) is gross and wrong. There is no reason that can justify the abuse of a child. Children on a whole are relient on their guardians to look after them (and niave) so when they are abused they loose all trust in others but will often blame themselves. The effects of which will effect them throughuot there entire lives - and if they ever have children it may possibly flow down into their lives. So thats me - i would write more but im getting worked up about it, dont want to bore you to death, and dont want to take up too much room. If this thread continues i will put more into it.

Posts: 1,750 Group: Members Member #33 Joined: December 11, 2004	well obviously there are some systems in place to try to stop child abuse but just as obviously these systems just aren't effective enough for the number and severity of the abuse effecting children. I dont know the american systems but i can quite safely say that about ours. And unforntunely you find that children of child abuse will become abusers themselves which just makes it a vicious circle from which that cant escape. I mean its happened here when people who have served there time for child abuse have been given new identies or something along that line and are placed in a house near primary shcools. I dont mind if people have served there time but its just wrong to place them near schools. Not only because of the children but its almost like tempting them to wait for them to stuff up. So yeah.. I can go on more - tell me when to shut up.

Posts: 447 Group: Members Member #207 Joined: March 8, 2006	i tend to agree with you. also we all tend to try and protect children from abuse. we do not explain it properly in school... what is abuse and what is normal parental behaviour. and lets face it... to one child it may be perfectly normal for the abuse to be there. they themselves do not understand it is abuse in the first place. this is especially true of mental abuse. the only way to catch more abusers... and make sure they are punished properly, is to educate children more about what people are allowed to do and what is not acceptable. and i am saying this from personal experience
