Back shortly after it happened I helped get a lot of donations for the Red Cross from customers where I work. I can't remember exactly how much we raised but every little bit helped. It's still such a shame that some things still haven't gotten back to normal. I do feel sorry for a lot of people down there. However, I do feel like some of them are taking advantage of the situation to a certain extent. There are people without homes that are living in FEMA trailers and still have done nothing to find a home. They act like it is FEMA's duty to rebuild their home for them and give them money to do so. That's not what FEMA's all about. Sure they will help give you a kick start, but you've got to follow through with their actions and help yourself out a bit. |
