From what I could tell the first DOA had no story at all.

The DOA2 "family" (all the versions) try to tell basically the same story, but it doesn't
seem to be very coherent. I think it has to do with trying to make all of the fighters'
stories relate to each other. There are so many different character types, I can see
the difficulty in tying them all together.

I don't know about later storylines, but it sounds like they're gradually working out
some of the kinks. I can't say I'm surprised there are still issues, though.

I'm a little surprised that there hasn't been a love direction in Hayabusa and Kasumi's
relationship. I guess it's because even before Kasumi was a glint in Itagaki's eye, Hayabusa-san had a girlfriend.

Either that, or Hayabusa doesn't like the thought of dealing with potential in-laws.

Well Pixel it shows in the DOA1(DOAU version) that Hayabusa had a lover named Aileen and Hayate is his close friend/rival. As for Kasumi I think Hayabusa is just a good friend. :kasumi: :kas:

Really? I didn't remember they're being any Story or Story Mode in DOA1, Ultimate or
otherwise. Did I miss something?

I was thinking about Rachel from Ninja Gaiden (Xbox). Seems like the storyline for
the NES game involved his girlfriend being kidnapped, though I don't remember if
her name was mentioned.

i don't recall aileen's name mentioned either. then again, ninja gaiden (xbox) is quite different from the original trilogy (NES/SNES).

Gaiden (xbox) was okay, but i'm still a huge fan of what it was before, and for me personally, something was lost in translation between the classics and what we have now.

I don't remember playing Ninja Gaiden on the NES back when it was new. I guess
it just never appealed to me.

I did get a chance to play it years later; I found it to be rather difficult.

I managed to get a Ninja Gaiden (XBX) playable demo with an issue of OXM, and I hung
on to it until I had an Xbox to play it.

It played fairly well, but I was surprised (and quite disappointed) to hear the English
voice track. I was expecting Hori Hideyuki's voice behind Hayabusa, obviously that
wasn't the case. If I remember correctly, I didn't care much Haybusa's English voice.

I remember hearing that Ayane made a cameo in the game. I bet she had an English
voice too, if she was allowed to speak at all.

the "gaiden" trilogy can be found on the SNES with remastered music. if u've a "wii" console, the first "gaiden" is up for download, with the other two following shortly afterwards.

the genesis catered to hayabusa's rival, joe musashi: "shinobi" of legend. :D

*See the acronym SNES and feels nostalgic.*

IMO, the SNES years were about the best in console gaming.

I still have my Super NES, tucked away in a plastic storage bin. Last time I checked it
still worked. It's now about 14 years old.

The classics never really die. They do occasionally turn yellow though.

If only I can find a way to remove the yellowing on parts of my Super NES's plastic
housing.

Don't forget the original Ninja Gaiden games are unlockable in the first Xbox game(Black only has 1 of the games, I think). They seemed to play the same as the NES and SNES games, I think, not sure.

Why does EVERYONE hate the English voices in games? Except for the DoA series, I usually love them, including Gaiden's, except for Rachel's lol. They seemed to fit. Though, I loved the Japanese voice tracks just as much.

Oh, and I still think Ayane owns Hayabusa :dancebaby: Lol.
