Well, why not? お誕生日おめでとうございます, かすみさま！ Otanjoubi omedetou gozaimasu, Kasumi-sama! (Happy Birthday, Kasumi!) Do you think she'll mind that I'm a little late? Seriously for a minute. Kasumi's birthday has some historical significance- On February 23, 1945, American forces raised Old Glory over Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima. For some reason, the first flag was replaced. It is the photograph of the second flag being raised that has become one of the most reproduced photos in history. The island was of some stategic importance; therefore, I'm more than a little surprised that Tecmo picked this day (part of a campaign that resulted in the taking of Iwo Jima a bit later by the Allies) for one of their flagship character's birthdays.
