Either Hayate or Hayabusa, but I think storywise Hayate makes the best match simply because of of the possibilities of their joint story. A good romance needs to have conflict all the way. Ein was an experiment. Helena somehow knows the details of the project. Why? Everyone knows she doesn't have a good relationship with her father, so how would she be privy to her father's secrets? And even if her father just told Helena about it, how the ###### was she able to recognize Ein when she first confronts him if she only hears about it by word of mouth? If DOATEC kidnapped him shortly during or after DOA 1, they would know him as Hayate of the Mugen Tenshin Mon ninjas, not as Ein, the name he enters in the tournament. Only logical ways I could see this possible is if a) She read the Project Epsilon file somehow or b) she's actually -seen- Ein before, maybe while they were doing the experiment in some guided tour of a DOATEC facility with her father. Also he has a costume where he wears tattered pants and broken shackles in DOA2, which gives a strong inference that he escaped. How? Why exactly was Project Epsilon considered a failure? Was it because something went wrong, or because the subject escaped? From Hayate's history as Ein, we know he "re-trained" himself at Hitomi's dad's dojo and mastered karate at a very short time. He could also walk, when in DOA 1 he was mentioned to be crippled. I think when DOATEC experimented on him, whatever they did to him cured his crippledness and also heightened his learning curve regarding the combative arts. As a price, he forgot who he was since curing paralysis would mean delving into the nervous system (brain, spinal column, etc). So keeping all that in mind, say he's a precious experiment housed in a DOATEC facility, without any memory that he's a ninja. He retrained himself in combat, there's a strong inference that he escaped. If he had no concept of his abilities due to the amnesia, and he's surrounded by high-tech security, how did he escape? Did he have help? If so, it would be someone who had access, or someone who could get access. Someone like Helena. But if that's the case why would she help him? She seems pretty self-absorbed, it comes with having a privileged life. But we know by trying to avenge her mother, and then abstaining from fighting in the third tournament until she was forced to, she has very strong convictions as to what's right and wrong. Maybe she had stayed away from DOATEC simply because she didn't agree with their principles ("DOATEC has nothing to do with me" from DOA3). It might not be canon, but it sure makes for one kickin' fanfic idea I might write someday.  |

I would she fits to Leon because they fit together. The story is somehow similar because they dont have anybody. She lost her parents and he lost his love roland. SO thats why i think they would fit although i dont like Leon that much |

I would also say Leon. Hayate fits to either Kasumi or Ayane (or even Hitomi) but not Helena. I don´t want to see a cutie on Helenas side but a rough, big and tough man. That's more likely. |
