here for the short description of that feature..... After blocking for a long period of time ur weapon will be smashed leaving u empty handed..... sure you can still block, but ur attacks are total crap.... u only have punches and kicks as offense(and oh yeah did i mention slow too ).... i really liked that feature back in my Soul Edge (Soul Blade) days... i really dont have the slightest idea why namco decided to ditch that feature... |

If there was a feature to toggle it on or off, that would be a good idea. |

yeah w/o this feature.... the longest fight ive been to was i think 2min (1 round and timer off and against a human opponent...) due to sheer blocking and deflection fight..... whereas in soul edge.... it really adds to the spice if you worry while blockling too.... adds a little depth to your strategies... :)) and oh yeah?? i dont see any point of using the soulcharge in SC2... in tekken series if you soul charge ur attack becomes unblockable for a second..... in SC2 it doesn't happen.... could you at least inform me what is the real purpose in soulcharging in SC2..... in SC1 soulcharging was at least used in the EdgeMaster mode..... in SC2 the soulcharge was not used even once (if i remember correctly) in WMM |

- I didn't like that feature too much, it really knocks off the balance of the game IMO. If you lose your weapon, then your screwed (might as well jump off the stage, right?) and when you lost your weapons, you only had about 20 moves fighting 'weaponless'. Going against some of the more advance players or pit-bull/powerhouse characters (Ivy/NM/Cervantes) wouldn't be fair to go aginst. The parry/repel compensate for that, so I wouldn't like to see the weapon loss feature IMO =/... |

Okay well first off. I never realy had the chance to play Soul Blade. So I wouldn't realy know much about this feature. But going by what You said it doesn't realy add up. For one thing, why should You be slower if Your weapon say's "good bye". If the weight of the weapon is gone then You should be able to move a little faster... should You not? Armored Core 3: Silent Line has that feature. And how would You be able to block a weapon attack with Your arm's? What if Nightmare was Your opponent? How could You block that? You could block the non-weapon attack's, but blocking weapon attack's with Your arm's would be kinda' stupid wouldn't it? As for the Soul Charge. It does make some attack's unblockable. Let's take My good man Asteroth. A non-charged Canyon Creation would be blocked. But, a non-charged Canyon Creation while in full Soul Charge mode (Glowing blue) will become unblockable. In addition, it also turn's some attack's into guard breaker's. So it still has a use, even if all You can get out of it is an attack upgrade. ~M_D~

I quite liked the weapon loss feature as a small diversion-never really thought much of it. And i agree, i NEVER use the soul charge practically-only when im bored. Though this may be just because im not an AMAZING SCII player...Prefer DOA!

thanks MD for pointing that out... now that i know about soul chargin` i guess i can add more spice to my gameplay by researching how will a soul charge will affect u per weapon.... before i could get wins w/o the help of soul charging, and if i manage to master it... hooooo boy im really excited... in Soul Edge there was no soul charge... instead there was Soul Berserk (i dunno if the name is right) thats kinda like a super attack.... but leaves ur weapon WEAK after that flurry attack.... oh yes you could block the weapons by your hands :P and the way i see it why the characters moves so slow is maybe because theyre trembling with fear knowing that they will be owned w/o their weapon... and besides weapon loss only occurs after u blocked 20-30 times a round..... but deflecting the weapon doesnt count as block so ur weapon meter is untouched...

Either keep the weapon loss out of the game or make it an option that can be turned off. SCII is a weapons based game. If I want hand to hand combat I put DOA3 in my X! |

hmmm i just remembered it was called that
:P thanks BT... and oh yeah i also liked the way SC2 makes the ring outs less rampant, the walls are really a nice idea!!.... cuz in SC1 it really sux if a good opponent is losing.... ###### camp on the edge of the stage and attempt to ring out you to reverse the tide.....

I couldn't care less. To me the best defense is offense, in other words, the left trigger/ A button isn't there unless I'm super desperate. If the CPU's weapon breaks too I'm all for it. (the CPU seems to recognize my strategy and blocks alot) |
