M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers, Ltd., developer of the Smart DiskOnKey platform, has entered into an agreement with Microsoft Corporation which would allow them to produce new, totally customizable memory units for Microsoft's console, the XBox.

Microsoft is not obligated to buy any of the units from M-Systems, though it's highly likely that they will.

It probably won't be available until Xbox 2 releases

With all the speculation and rumours, the release date is supposed to be Fall 2005 which I think is a smart move because of Christmas season around the corner, plus because PS3 is supposed to be out in Japan in Spring 2006. The specs have to be finalized by a certain time, they can't release PS3 in Spring 2006 then all of a sudden change it for US release. While the PS3 is in Japan, Xbox 2 will be in US and Canada. Then people can compare Xbox 2 with PS3 while its in Japan; catch my drift? B)
