Hi can any 570 owners recomend a compatable mic to lift the audio on the ts 570 dge model. I have a turner ssk and d104 eagle ampilfied version and was wandering if any of these mics are compatable without any mods needed, both work fine with very loud audio on my ft 747 yaesu. Any recomendations please, on any mic really to suit Thanks Adi |

Tbh the original mic is very good especially if you use some compression,i had a mc60 but it didnt suit my voice so i sold it and bought another stock mic. Ulf (Balla60) uses a few different mics on his 570 incl a turner +2 so a pm to him might give you the info you want.. good luck

try your mikes, but remember one of the pins on mic socket provides power to the mike. so try to avoid them with those mikes, i have had two base mikes on my radio watson 308 and a mc60a. all ok. fist mic works for me as well but a swine to keep keyed with bad hands. 73. mark. |

Hi Adi. I've tried a few different microphones on my TS570 and have concluded that Turner +2, Icom SM20 works very well, but my voice will work best on Icom SM6 has the best registeret base and diskant.Icom microphones need a voltage to drive the microphone and you can get it from pin 5 from the Kenwood, Madmark1 has done a good description of how to connect Icom microphones to Kenwood trancivers.Has the micgain on 70 and compression set to 5 then I get the best modulation. 73S from 21CT043 Ulf

Funnily enough, I used exactly the same two Mics when I had a TS-570, and I received numerous highly complimentary reports with both of them. I had previously tried a Leson (CB) Power Base Mic and a Yaesu MD-100 with the 570, but I didn't like the result from those. |

Thanks for the replies, it's interesting to know other peoples views on these things. The standard mic does works well but when every one compares the yaesu/turner combo audio to the kenwood fist mic i get told i am not as loud. I will have to look out for an other base mic, the 308's always sound a good tone to my ear as does the mc 60, very clear but just lacking a bit of bass which i like. I will keep my eyes open for a second hand adonis/watson 308 or turner plus 3b and give them a try and add to the growing collection. Thanks Adi |

I was connected an old Yeasu YM-38 yesterday to my TS 570 and it was sounding very good, very nice bass on it.It is an dynamik mike without compressor and it has a switch between 600 ohm and 50Kohm. 73s Ulf |

Thanks Ulf i will take it on board, the dynamic heads/elements do seem to suit my voice, when i switch to the 10da head on the d104 it is more suited than the lollipop head to my voice. The joys of radio. |

The standard mic should work very well. This might only be a mid range HF radio but it's considerbly better built than even the best 'CB' transiever. Before I get stoned, I'm not knocking 'mere CB's' but untill you have tried a radio, like the 570, the increase in overall performance (not just transmitted audio) can be stunning if 'driven' right. Set the radio up correctly and then leave it alone. |

Totally agree,i have to laugh when i see cb radios on ebay selling for £300 when you can get a 570dg for a couple of hundred more, sometimes less... Im still using the standard mic, infact ive bought another standard mic as a spare as they work so well And the processor if set up properly really gives the audio some punch

John got a cross over lead made up and tried the astatic 575 m6 on the kenwood and it works a treat. Total audio lift over the standard mic with my voice, not that the standard mic was bad but the m6 is better and gives this radio the audio presence i was expecting.

Russ i use a 575 m6 astatic nott he same mic as yours i know but actual mic setting 3/4 on volume tone all way down, obviously if the volume is changed the mic would alter too. Tx eq off mic gain 38 with comp at 10 mic 48 with no comp 2.4 tx bandwidth MC 60A is very good but most prefer the astatic on my voice |
