Which programming languages do you know?

I know:

  • GML
  • Javascript
  • PHP
  • HTML

well, and I also know some
  • BASIC
  • Visual Basic
  • NQC (a LEGO MINDSTORMS programming language. BTW, Professer Overmars made a compiler for this language also)
That's all I can think of.

I'll make this into a poll. Choose all the languages you know. If you know a language I didn't add, add it. Please note that the compilers should all go in the same catagory (e.g. Xbasic and Qbasic are both BASIC)

I'll rate my known languages on a scale of 1 to 10:

GML: 9
HTML: 3
JAVA: 7 (NOT Javascript)
Actionscript: 3 (Used in Flash)
QuickBasic: 7

On a side note, it's become difficult for me to use Game Maker's Drag 'N' Drop.
I've become so used to code, that when I see large amounts of D&D, I pretty much say "Bah!"

EDIT: I'm getting better at JAVA.

When I try to continue my old projects, I find it impossible to deal with all of the D&D. I always end up changing it all to code.

Well, technically a "n00b" is more of a stupid person, while a "newb" is simply somebody who is simply new to whatever they're doing/trying/learning. A newb is willing to learn, and when it applies to GM, they will most certainly consult the manual before posting on a forum. A n00b, on the other hand, will go directly to posting on a forum, and ask "Where can I download the manual?". So, I believe there is a difference between n00bs and newbs.

Drag 'N' Drop is not necessarily a bad way to start with GM, but seriously, it doesn't allow nearly as much. You don't have the flexibility of scripts with D&D, you can't use do loops, while loops, or for loops. I commonly use do loops. I was helping somebody on the GMC with their game, which HAD to be in D&D for conversion with G-Java, and I was surprised at how much I hated D&D. I was attempting to remove glitches, and fix some things, but I didn't have the flexibility I needed. If the player got stuck in a wall, I would implement some sort of loop to find the nearest collision free position, but I couldn't do that in D&D, so I gave up.

Actually, I have acess to thousands of HTML and CSS, PHP, GML, and C++ tutorials. mainly HTML and some CSS or something I think...

Just asking, I'm assuming there's a difference between CSS and C++, but is there?

c++ is a profetional programing language that most games are made with now a days (like big game that are in wal mart)

css is a small little language that is use to make website templates
