* It has been months since either of you have been in such a large city, the 'goings on" are enough to make the both of you nervous at best. After a few days stay, gathering needed supplies and having repairs done not to mention whatever personal things that could come up along the way. You both find yourself sitting next to each other at the same inn. Its not because the place is crowded at such an early hour, it just so happens that the both of you had decided to get an early start and ordering breakfast before any rush would only prove worth while. Maybe this time someone might make a good traveling companion. Who Knows? * ( OOC: OK, as I sit here with my tooth occasionally wanting to throb I say this to the both of you. Come out clean, not hitting belo... um. No. Wait?!? Lets try something different. Normally I would give you some type of mission or such to go on but instead I'm going to let you just start playing and I will start playing off the two of you. You are strangers, meeting for the first time. Both of you are staying at the in or have been and either of you catch the others eyes and begin a conversation. Both seem pleasing to the other. So lets see what you got. ) |

What brings you to this fine city?" *Smiles and Pauses for a short period to let him/her respond before continuing* "I'm here just checking things out, but I'm leaving today. What about you? not very subtle, I know but oh well I'd also like to make a gather information roll to find any rumors of either A. Who might be hiring? and or B. * I wipe my mouth with the small cut cloth that was provided at my table ..then take a sip from my mug ..I look around the Inn making a mental note to stop in again next time I am in the city ..Nowhere really to go I just like to move around...its then that I notice a man about my age looking to be getting a early start as well ...he speaks to me ...his voice seems kind so I smile and answer his question .* " I have only been here for a short while ..I move around alot ..so no real reason other then it was in my path and I needed to rest up... a nice bed and clean sheets is always a lure " * I smile then continue * " I am leaving today as well ...I like to travel its in my blood I think ..so where are you heading ? is this business or pleasure ? " * I take another sip from my mug and settle back into the wooden chair as best I can * |

( OOC: For Price's gather info roll (25) - A few stories have popped up of a caravan heading south, doesnt pay much but your meals our covered. There always looking for a good sword arm or the like. There is also the group traveling to the " Shrouded Veil ", the legends behind that are enough to keep most sane people from trying but a few manage to gather every year. It is also said that none have ever returned to tell there tale. Also posted under a carved wooden hawk sitting on a tree limb near the main doors are a few pieces of parchment of various sizes, one looks as if it might be wrote on cloth. [ A bulletin board of sorts ] ) |

'*smiles at the lovely young lady and says* "Well milady I was planning on heading out of town but had no real destination in mind. I agree with you on that as clean sheets and a non moving room does have a certain appeal. I don't know how anyone can stand it staying in one place their whole lives. Do you?" *Grins and adds* "Did you happen to note the board outside? I noted a few notices out there if you wanted to check that out after breakfast that would be fine with me. I've also heard of a group heading towards the Veil as well as a Caravan headed South so whats your cup of tea?" "I was thinking of checking out the Caravan they don't pay much but the meals board and travel costs are covered and who knows what we might see. The only big drawback being that we would be tied in to protecting the Caravan so no sneaking off in the middle of the night to check out any old ruin we might pass. Unless of course we can make it back before the dawn rises." "By the way, what is your name milady? My name is Price." *Wipes his mouth after finishing his breakfast. Pushes his chair back, collects his backpack, his weapons before tossing the serving maid a grin and leaving a drackma as a tip.* "Whenever your ready?" |

* I listen as the stranger speaks then add once he has introduced himself ..placing my hand out * " Glad to meet you Price ..my name is Trinity ..and I can not stay in one place too long ..I am a traveler I love the land and being outdoors " * I listen careful when he talks of the board I had only a glance at * " I did notice it but did not stop to read ...caravan you say ? that does sound intriguing " * I raise my eye brows and shake my head in agreement to the caravan * " adventuring is something I love to do .. I could not promise I would not sneek out during the moons light " * I think to myself * This sounds like a good plan ..I have nothing more interesting to do ..plus I may meet some interesting people along the way . * I gather my pack filled with my traveling gear and swing it over my shoulder then turn to him and say * " Price my new friend ...is it safe to say we are partners in this adventure ? " * forgetting what that must sound like I quickly add * " well you know ...not that kind of partners but ..partners " * I smile a bit * |

*Grins and says* "Sure we'll be Partners a nice 70-30 split" *Laughs* "Nah Lets do it this way lets take make it a fair 50-50 split. Any items we find we can either figure out who would benefit from them the most or we can get an appraisal from someone and either buy the other out or we can sell it and split the proceeds. What say ye?" *Places his hand in hers and gives it a good shake* "But we'd better check the board just in case the Caravan is full, besides who knows we might find something that we can do along the way, with the Caravan. As the two of you look over the board Trinity notices that a piece of parchment has stuck to another. The one below reads as follows. * [ ATTENTION: If there are any persons interested in making some extra coin, then please speak to Elmius Tracnor, ask for him near the southern gate before leaving the city and he will tell you what is required. ] * Remembering that Price mentioned that the caravan was heading south maybe this in the opportunity he spoke of when he said "two for one". * ( OOC: Trinity's roll would be a search roll which is unmodified at 16. ) |

*Grins at the woman and says* "Indeed we shall." *Pauses to glance at the cloth parchment trying to make out the words. Reaches past the young woman and plucks the notice from the board the one from Elmius Tracnor Smiles at her and says.* "Shall we head towards the southern gate. After all we don't want anyone other than us undertaking this mission for Mr Tracnor do we. That's not to say that Mr Tracnor didn't post more of these around the city but at least we've got one of them." *Grins* "Let's go!" *Thinks...* I hope this task that this Mr. Tracnor has for us isn't too difficult. I also hope that no one else has taken him up on his offer of coin. |

* The two of you head off towards the south gate in hopes of finding this Tracnor fellow and maybe a little more about the caravan being they are heading south. Once you are within view of the gate you both start looking around for this fellow. * * The gate is actually two in one, the full size of the main gate is overwhelming, the sheer size of the trees used in its construction seems almost impossible to be moved without some form of magical aid. With both of these main doors close the only way in or out is through a smaller door on the right side gate. At the moment two soldiers man this smaller opening, allowing visitors and such trickle through. It looks like a small cart might fight through but you can tell its more for people and animals. * * There is only one other near the exit, a small overweight dumpy man with short oily looking dark hair. Hes sitting in a rickety old chair that looks like it might break from the weight of the him. He leans back on it and then lets it fall back to the ground. We watches as people trickle in and the occasional few that are leaving. It doesnt really look as though hes looking for anyone but he occasionally spits at the ground next to him. He watches as you approach with emotion on his face. * |

*I begin to walk with Price in the direction of the gate ..it seems to be a nice day out and I do some small talk while we walk . Once we arrive I notice the small door passage through the right side of the gate ..then notice the man setting akwardly in his chair with what I call a very bad habit ...my nose scrunches up a bit as i watch him spit his fowl fluids from his mouth in such a way he does this much too often ..I look to price and say * " would you like to do the talking ..I tend to think men favor talking to men when it comes to business ...women they flirt with ..and I am not in the mood to bat my eyes at the moment " * I smile and let out a small laugh ..but look to him for his answer.* |

*Nods to Trinity, as I approach the man in the chair. With one hand casually resting on the hilt of my short sword. Looks down upon him and says* "Greetings milord, Do you know when the gates open for the day? I also seek a man named, Elmius Tracnor? Do you happen to know such a man?" *Looks around the area and takes special note of the gate and the placement of the men around the area making sure that they aren't trying to sneak up on me or to take me by surprise. Grimaces as the man spits again. Waits for the mans response* Not that I don't trust you not to have my back Trinity, I just don't trust this strange little man. I sure do hope this man isn't the same man known as Elmius Tracnor but if he is we'll deal with it as best we can. After all it doesn't always mean, the way a man keeps himself doesn't nesssarily mean, that he's evil or bad it just means that he's given up on himself. |

( OOC: ok for Trinity's checks I will PM them to her. ) * The man looks up at you and lets the two front legs slam back down. As he does so he stands up to meet you square in the eye. When he realises hes a few inches shorter than you he relaxes and takes a step back and smiles [ you can see that his teeth are stained from whatever he chew and bits of it are stuck between his teeth ]. He wipes his hand on his shirt and sticks it out to shake yours. * * With a voice that sounds a bit nasaly he says. * " I'm Elmius Tracnor, I take it you must have seen my post at the Soaring Hawk. What is your name good sir and your friend. " * He nods in Trinity's direction making a motion to join them. * " The southern gate dont get left open so much, theres a caravan coming through here in a little while, they'll open it up for that. Some of the nasties out in the dessert like to try and get in from time to time and its just easier to keep the big ones close for as much traffic as it gets. " |

* Greet the man who says he is who we are looking for ...I spot nothing out of the ordinary ...as I look around ...when he mentions the caravan I look to Price ..stepping forward to his invite ..I feel calm ..something just seems ok with this man ...his smile is a bit well lets say it has character .. I lean in at his welcoming soiled hand and sleeve ...holding my hand out with a grimace held inside.* " The name is Trinity ..its a pleasure to meet you Mr. Tracnor" |

*gives the man a terse smile and takes his hand, shakes it briefly then, discretly wipes my hand on the butt of my breeches once i've finished* "Hello Mr Tracnor, It is my pleasure to make your aquaintance." *Motions for trinity to join us when she does I say* "My name is Price. We had hoped to sign on with the Caravan. Seeing your notice piqued our curiosity. And we figured why don't we check this out and see if we can't slay two dragons with one sword." *Grins and nods to Trinity.* "So what can we do for you today Mr. Tracnor?" |

* He nods a greeting to the both of you. * " Yeah it will be coming through in a bit, their always looking for able bodies to travel with them. Bout three a year make it through here, believe they travel through Mehdia before heading on to Bahara. " * He looks around to see if anyone is looking then leans a bit closer and tells the both of you in a more quieter tone. * " Its really a simple matter but one of a personal nature, it is very important to me and my family. I'm looking for someone honest enough to help me. You two wouldn't happen to be so would you? Over the past couple of days I have turned others away you know. " * He leans back and smiles pleasantly, looking about some more and stepping aside when a passerby walks a bit close. * |

*when the gentleman leans in I lean in as well to better hear him ..when he is done speaking before he leans away I add * " I believe we may be interested to learn more " * When he leans away due to some people coming near I look to Price and say quietly * " Its important to the family ..sounds very personal ..a vendetta maybe ." * I look back to the man who seems to me to be very sincer and listen for more .* |
