This one picks up an undisclosed time after the end of the last movie. Lord Beckett and the East India Trading company are hunting down every last pirate, with the "assistance" of Davy Jones and the flying Dutchman. Beckett has managed to declare martial law (not sure how that worked, unless he had the King's ear), and has declared even a passing association with a pirate to be grounds for hanging. One man, it is felt can change things: Captain Jack sparrow.

Unfortunately, he's no longer amongst the living.

Thus, those close to Jack (well, kind of close. Well, those who can read the writing on the wall and realize that Jack is their best chance) must find a way to the underworld, free Jack from his eternal punishment, and do battle with beckett and Co. Will they manage this daunting task?

I had gone to see this one yesterday. Now, if you're looking for a movie that will make you ponder life's deeper questions, move along. This is about Captain Jack Sparrow. I am trying to keep from giving out any spoilers, save one. "Stop! I've lost my brain!"

Seriously, this is a very good movie. It ties up the stories from the previous movie and, despite the running time of over 2 1/2 hours, it keeps the boring moments to a minimum. My rating: Two thumbs up and 9 pieces of eight.

I just watched the movie on Saturday at midnight (actually that would technically be Sunday) and you're right the movie was fun to see. I know what you mean about not giving away the spoilers but I do have to say that my love for Tia Dalma (Naomi Harris - Selena from 28 Days Later) grew even greater in this third movie. She is so damn hot!!!!! The whole witch doctor/savage woman look drives me crazy. YOW!!!!

Anyway, I agree, the movie helps wraps things up and although I would have to say it did drag a couple times, it wasn't enough for me to get bored with it. Plus, being up at midnight is a challenge to watch a movie that long. I should load up on Red Bull the next time I do that.
