Saw this one the other day. Based on a true story (which is Hollywoodspeak for, "Yes, some of the facts might be right, but we'll take as many liberties as we can without being sued"), it tells the story of five Americans who join the French Army (I know, an oxymoron) as pilots during World War I.

The positive: The acting was good, especially considering that the two most recognizable faces in the film are James Franco (Harry Osborn from the Spider-man movies) and jean Reno (from the recent Pink Panther remake and Godzilla). The humor in the movie didn't hamper the story (though most centered on one character's inability to hit anything with his machine gun fire).

The negative: The first part of the movie seemed to move a bit slow. As in trench warfare slow. Also, it's a bit predictable as well (you know the guy who couldn't hit anything will wind up finally getting a kill.)

Final analysis: It's a decent movie, worth seeing. Just don't expect Academy Award material.

The worthy GM never purposely kills players' PCs, He presents opportunities for the rash and unthinking players to do that all on their own."
