Things to remember when playing: 1.) Remember when wounded during play you must find away to stop the bleeding (after the battle or whatever). I do not assume that you automatically do this everytime your hurt so make sure you post otherwise or you will continue to lose hit points till you fall unconsious. If magic (spell, potion, device, etc.) is used then binding of the wounds are not required. 2.) Up until now I havn't really put this rule into effect and I can imagine it is overlooked a large part of the time. However I'm going to start using it. If you are a spell caster (mage or cleric) and you are wearing armor of any type there is a certain chance (depending on the armor) that the spell you cast will fail. You should be able to find the % chance of failure on your sheet. If you do not wear armor then you dont need to worry about this rule. 3.) Somewhere in the PHB or DMG 3.5e it states that a spellcraft check will tell you what spell is on a scroll or read magic spell will do the trick. Then later I found that the spell states you have to roll a check even when casting RM. I disagree with this so the rule here is a spellcraft check (DC: 10 + spell level) or a read magic spell (no check required) 4.) During a game session it is important to pay attention to the cues I give as they can be a bit subtle. When I discribe a scene to you and tell you there are others present (either NPC or Monster) and I make no mention of them seeing or attacking you it is a good indication that you have a certain amount of time as surprise. If you do not act within a certain amount of time (decided by the DM) you take the risk of being spotted. (init. will be rolled at this time) 5.) When playing a character that has a animal companion you can only skip a post without discribing their actions in some way ( I would rather it be every post but I will accept every other ). Note: This does not apply to the DM. |

Since the begining of the TOW Main thread in july of 2004 the issue of the initiative roll as been something that has caused trouble. After talking with BHODIV about it he explained that he seen it done this way. ( After the current combat this will take place. ) I will have each player send me an initiative roll in advanced for the next time it is needed, that way when an encounter takes place we will not have to wait thru the first round to see the order. When I make a post that requires the roll I will already have each party members roll which I will then add to my own and post in the proper order. Once I have posted you will have a limited amount time to post your reply. The amount of time is still in question and will be posted at the time of my post. I might also do the same for various skill checks or what not too. |

Here is a small one I would like to see. In hackmaster the word used is Gawd or Gawds. In D&D the word used is God or Gods. Please try and remember that this is a fantasy roleplaying game and that by using the word God is not blasphmy in any way so to use it in your post should not be a problem. |

Recent events have spurred me to write this one and when things start back up it will be put to use. This is more than just a rule its also meant to help keep order during the game and keep players from feeling that they aren’t be treated fair. I do the best I can when it comes to being a DM, by no means do I feel myself perfect or flawless in this respect. Most of the DMing that I have done was with 2e rules and wasn’t until I started this game back up on the forums did I switch to 3e & 3.5e rules nor did I know much about them at the time. With this in mind please take the following to heart. During any part of the game including combat if you feel that I am missing something that is critical to game play then please bring it to my attention in a calm and polite marring in PM to me. I have found that putting complaints in the main thread causes resentment and embarrassment among the players. Please know that I try to be as fair as I can about each and all of my decisions and contrary to popular belief I have and will remain fair in all of my decisions, even when unhappy with their actions and decisions. If the player comes to me I will do my best to explain my actions and if I am missing something I am not to small minded to do my best to correct the problem if they would so kindly show me the information. |
