Shas'El Rey Duav'r Kass looked wearily at the Shos'O standing in front of him. After being immersed in the virtual reality of his Crisis suit for close to 48 hours, it was a harsh experience to be extracted and feel his physical body again. All the joints were aching, and he felt dizzy. The pilots were really not supposed to be deployed in their suits for such extended periods, but the last days had given him little choice. Worse still was that they finally had lost the Akhmer Plateau, the defenders there had been killed by the gue'va.
He had anticipated that however, and had informed the Shas'O that the territory was unholdable, the featureless landscape and harsh weather of the high plateau made defending the area a hopeless effort, gathered statics wrecked havoc with communications, and even their advanced sensors were unable to give any real warning of approaching enemies. They had had to rely on the Jikita as forward scouts, and even the hardy carnivores obviously felt out of place on the hard and windswept landscape of the plateau. It had come to good tactics and sheer luck that they had been able to repel the initial tyranid swarm, this time they had not been so lucky.

"You might wonder why I insisted upon us holding the Akhmer Plateau", the Shas'O said, seemingly reading the younger shas mind. "As both of us knew that it would be next to impossible to defend".
"Yes!" Duav'r Kass said, unable to keep his silence now, "and there is nothing of value to us there, no t'au, no settlements, not even gue'la", he almost shouted.
"You are completely right" the more experienced shas replied, "and with the reports of another tyranid swarm advancing on to the plateau even as we speak, I did not really expect us to hold on to the area for very long".

"But, then why did you not order a retreat...", the young Shas'El suddenly fell silent.

"I see you have come to a realization" The older shas said, a sad smile flickering across his features.
"While our defenders fought over the plateau, we were able to secure the city of New Tahmnai, and with it thousands of gue'la technicians and scientist that will see and appreciate the efforts of the Greater Good to keep them secure.

"And all the while the gue'la will be fighting the tyranid horde for control of the Achmer Plateau" Kass whispered.

No begynner det å ta seg opp med fluff. Håper flere slenger seg på å lager kampanjen til ei god historie :)
