I'm so glad that, generally, the days of slavery and supression are over. No longer are women looked upon as the slaves of the men. Though I never really lived in the times of unfairness, it's good to know the workplace is full of both men and women and that we have equal say. Sure, there is still some room for improvement but in some areas we've also gone too far. I'm talking about political correctness. For instance, it is no longer politically correct to say chairman or garbage man, it is now chairperson or garbage person. While I can understand it, does it really matter? I guess it does because if you happen to slip and use one of the past commonly accepted terms, it's like you swore and let gas pass at the same time. In all truthfulness, how far does it have to go? I think it's already going too far. I automatically now turn man or men into person when I talk and think now, just to be safe. Perhaps I should add guy to that list. It's become almost second nature to me now. I mean, I dont have good sportsmanship, I'm all about sportspersonship. Sure, it's a little harder to say and it's bad for lazy speekers but we'll get used to it. I'm not the species human anymore, I'm a huperson. My wife is not a woman, she's a woperson. And for everyone who's religious, remember, it's now ahperson that you should end your prayers with. Sure, this may appear to be a comical post and I'm happy if I've made you smile but it's only funny because it's ridiculously true. |
