Don't look at me!
Anime: Vampire Hunter D

Genre: Horror/Action

Creator: Toyoo Ashida

Company: CBS

Plot: 20/25
Well, it's a vampire anime. However... it's one of the first, which is why it gets this score. It's set in the far away future 12,090 AD. The story is about the daughter of a Werewolf hunter who gets attacked by a 10,000 year old vampire. In other words. 82 years from now and he will exist. Anywho, this terrifying vampire (Named Count Magnus) wants to make this girl (named Doris) his vampiric wife. Doris later encounters a vampire hunter. Many things happen and you learn things about this vampire hunter that may surprise you. The plot plays out well while characters will bore you to pieces. I'll make an exception since it's from 85.

Artwork: 8/15
Well, for nowadays standards the artwork is completely terrible! No shading, bland emotions, etc. For the 80's it's still not terrific but it'll do for an old anime. The sequel was beautiful anyway

Originality: 23/25
Sure it's a vampire anime, but it's a good one, featuring many plot twists and creepy critters, it's the best vampire story you'll see in the 80's due to original characters, villains, and plot work.

Length & Music: 9/10
For a movie it's quite lengthy. Stretching onto the 80 minute mark, each second has reason to be there. The music is genius from the starting credits to the ending credits, you'll love the soundtrack.

First Impression and Conclusion: 9/10
It's a creepy, classic anime flick which may not interest all because of its age. It's 20 years old, but it's a classic that should be viewed anyway, don't turn it off the first five minutes, keep on watching and possibly fall in love.

Overall Feel: 13/15
It's a classic vampire anime with a great story and creepy creatures. It's filled with blood, violence, and love. Mostly violence. I loved the feel of it and I hope you do as well.
TOTAL:82/100
