Saw "Batman Begins" tonight. A far better movie than the last 3 Batman movies, and probably better than the original too. Bale is a very good choice for the role. Caine is an excellent Alfred. Freeman is his usual excellent self. Katie Holmes was not much of a factor, and instead of seeing her as a DA, I kep thinking of her being Mrs. Tom Cruise (ugh.) Not sure of what to make of the Scarcrow. I liked Liam Neeson's goatee. The Batmobile rocked, but I have seen cooler Batman costumes in other flicks. Decent plot, nice action, good acting. Great visuals and a really good score. But it is hard to call any movie about a man dressed as a bat a great movie.

How does it compare to the first movie w/ Michael Keaton? I always measure against him because he was my favourite Batman. I loved the way he said, "I'm Batman".

LMAO. My mind is just reeling thinking about all the good jokes we could've made up and annoyed people around us by laughing at during this movie. LOL.

Bale is a much more physical presence than Keaton. And a bit darker. The Gotham City in this movie is not gothic like it was in Burton's version, but just looks like New York in the present day. Unlike The Joker in the first one, there is almost no humor in this one.

awww.. no humor? I just LOVED that "Partyman" scene in the first movie, w/ Jack dancing around and destroying paintings in the art gallery w/ that ghetto blaster. LOL.

So, bottom line: Should I GO see it? Or can it wait till video?

Well, THAT wouldn't be too hard to do. Be better than ROTS, I mean.
On second thought, I'm glad I didn't go w/ you. I wouldn't have been able to be serious and just watch the movie. I would've wanted to make fun of his costume or Katie or something. Plus, Michael Caine annoys me. Don't hate me for saying that.

Ouch!!!

"Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman have signed to star in a second Batman movie, but love interest Katie Holmes has been dropped. Movie bosses are thrilled with the response to Batman Begins - it took $46.9 million in its first weekend at the US box office - and have snapped up the film's stars for a sequel. Bale as Batman was the first to put pen to paper, followed by Caine as butler Alfred and Freeman as Bruce Wayne's business associate Lucius Fox. But Holmes won't reprise her role as district attorney Rachel Dawes - reportedly because Warner Bros is angry her engagement to Tom Cruise has stolen media attention away from the movie. A source tells Pagesix.Com, "Everyone is in agreement that the movie's strength is with Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman." Adding of Holmes, "She won't be in the sequel... the next romantic interest will be a much stronger actress. Warner is happy that people are now focusing on who'll be playing the Joker rather than Katie and Tom."
