It seems that for kids this is a refuge of innocence in a very un-innocent world.

That's what it's like reading and being into the books at ANY age. You get totally swept away to another world. A better world.

..I'd forgotten how (and I say this word w/ ALL the emphasis you could ever put on it) EXCITING it is to read one of the books for the first time! It is so exciting! You just have these really big reactions! You find yourself talking, gasping, screaming, yelling, groaning, etc OUT LOUD to the book as you're reading it. And you find you're just bursting to talk about it and speculate w/ others.

I've read up to this part in book six that made me laugh out loud, and when I told my mum what happened .. she looked at me weirdly .. i guess you have to read the books to get it.

anyway - this book is def. one of my favorites

Prisoner of Azkaban
Goblet of Fire
Half Blood Prince *
Philosopher's Stone
Order of the Phoenix
Chamber of Secrets [although, Chamber of Secrets is my favorite movie]
Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them
Quidditch Through the Ages

* means so far. When I finish it will just have to see.

OMG even more excited for the movie now.

ok, TINY MINOR LITTLE 1-5 CHAPTERS SPOILERS AHEAD

bride, I was really DIGGING the scene w/ Snape, Narcissa and Bellatrix Lestrange! It was great and dark and it was making me think... And I thought the intro scene where Fleur comes in was funny, the way the others were talking. And what's happening w/ her. But I HAVEN'T read further, so DON'T TELL ANYTHING!

I am now on page 219, as was evident from my latest sig quote.

Love, love, LOVE Hermione, as usual. But the most interesting character in this book so far to me is Snape.

SAME - also the whole Draco thing too - even though he is a prat - still interesting. I'm about up to there as well. I also loved the opening chapter w/ the prime minister and the bit when fudge casually tells him about importing 3 dragons, lol.

You should probably read all the books [they are so great you can't put them down] but if you couldn't be bothered and you've seen the three movies, start from Goblet of Fire, which is great and it also give a lot of detail about the plot and everything. They are great books - I'm not a huge reader, but i love them

well, you can if you want, but I don't think you'll understand what's going on. More than half the book is based on stuff that happened in other books. If you're going to read one, you really should start w/ The Philosopher's Stone.

I know @ Draco! I couldn't believe it what he did to Harry on the train.

page 433. I am REALLY unhappy w/ the 'ships' in this book. But I am supremely happy w/ the big mysteries there are in this one.
