Hello, everyone. Karuna Dreamer here. As a Hogwarts Gryffindor, I felt it was high time this site had a Harry Potter thread of some kind. [I mean, there IS actually a HUGE Harry Potter / Uma connection. Ma was married to Gary Oldman, who ended up in the third movie "Prisoner of Azkaban" playing our beloved Sirius Black.] And it doesn't matter if you're a fan of the books, but not the movies or of the movies, but not the books. Or if you only like Hermione. Or you just think Daniel Radcliffe is getting hotter by the minute. Or whatever. All of that discussion, chat, talk, nonsense, etc. is welcome here. And feel free to ask questions, too. (But do me a little favor, if you just hate everything about Harry Potter, please don't say it here. Let's have a positive thread. Thanks. I appriciate it.)

I will also be using this thread to give you the latest important Potter news as I get it.

And from time to time, I will post some pics, too. see you all around.

oh, and as I said in the "Late Night, West Coast..." thread, my sig pic right now is from the set of the fourth film "Goblet of Fire" which is filming right now.

Ron?! Really? hmmm..

Anyway, I can't wait for 'Half Blood Prince' either. But then, I think sometimes: What will I do when it's all over? When I've read them all?

Well, if you can see the first 2 first, I would.
Cause they don't really introduce the characters or tell who is who or tell any of the backstory in the third one. You don't HAVE to, but I would see them in order. Just rent the first 2 and then see the third one.

Hopefully, 4 more, so that they do all seven. There will eventually be seven books, so I'm hoping for seven movies.

no, it was always seven books, cause in the first book, which was published when no one knew at the time how big it was going to be, it says that Hogwarts is a seven year program that started when Harry was in sixth grade (i.e. 11 years old). Lots of schools in England are set up that way. Plus, Rowling has said many times that she has more money than she wants now and she doesn't really strike me as the greedy type.

....or were you kind-of just kidding? ....I'm hoping THAT's the case, since I DID say I wanted this thread to stay at least a little positive.

Nope, was serious. But I was wrong about only 4-5. So isn't it the last book that is coming out soon then/ With 4 more movies to make, I see a real problem with the ages of the current troope of actors dont you? They will all be 20 or so by the time #7 is made, even if they start now. I would dies if they replaced any of them. What are they gonna do?

And this is a problem how? I mean, how many shows or movies are there where an older person who's like 23 (like James Van Der Beek, for example) plays a teenager for years? Countless. So, they're already going to be in high school in the next movie and are mostly full grown. After the next movie, it's not really going to matter all that much, I don't think. Plus, Rowling and all the screenwriters have been quoted many times recently as saying that they wouldn't ever replace the trio and that they didn't see the whole age thing as a problem. I think it's funny...even though this has been done w/ way older people than this playing way younger people, everyone's bringing it up w/ HP.

They won't replace them. ....The only way they'd have to do that is if one of them quit. And Daniel's the only one who has said he might. But I really hope he doesn't. He'd let alot of people down.
