Ok, a couple of days ago I stumbled upon a thread on Halo Waypoint. It basically demonstrates a method of how you can earn a silly amount of cR (far exceeding the current daily cR cap) in a three hour window. More importantly, how you can get these cR to carry over to your account the next day. You'll need to be familiar with setting yourself daily custom challenges on Halo Waypoint for this to work. Here's a link to the custom challenge set up page: LINK So if for some reason you don't have an account there, you'll need to make one using your windows live login details (what you use for xbl & have attached to your Gamer tag). So what you'll need to do is set your self five custom challenges on that page. Each one will need to be a Campaign challenge. Each will need to be set on ONI: Sword Base. Each will need to be on Heroic difficulty, & each will need to have all skulls activated, except for the Iron Skull & the Blind Skull. Once you have them all set up, then you can start working on them. The Challenges in Order
Ok... for those of you that choose to do this & are unfamiliar with the ONI: Sword Base Laser Designator loop hole, i'll explain it to you now... From the mission start, you'll need to make your way to the end of the court yard in front of you. What I usually do, is to run up the ramp to my left. You'll be greeted by two Jackles... don't kill them. Try to avoid them without using your sprint AA, & duck into the little alcove on the left wall (they can't shoot you there). Make your way quick as possible to the end of that elevated area to the Sniper Spawn & jump down (roughly directly to the left of the sniper spawn). When you hit the ground, start sprinting & jumping. The world & it's mother will be trying to kill you by this point, & they'll have a good chance of doing so as well, considering you are virtually on LASO settings! Now keep running down the ramp to the LD spawn (Laser Designator). Pick it up & look back to where you just ran from (up the ramp). Now look over to your left (still under the garage roof type thing), & you'll see a column with some black & yellow chevron tape on the ground just in front of it. Go & stand there, as close as the column as possible... & wait for the check point to pop. As soon as it do's, fire your LD at the horde just outside the garage doors. Only fire your weapon once, or you'll mess up the save point. So as soon as you've fired & all the medals have flashed up, just hit the start button on your controller & revert to save. This will reload you to the point just before you fired your weapon. To reach the required numbers for the 23,391 cR, you'll need to do this for about twenty minutes solid... maybe a minute or two longer, depending on your aim with the LD. Once you have all the required numbers filled (you can check this at any point by saving & quitting your game, refreshing the page on Halo Waypoint & checking your numbers. But twenty minutes is a good rule of thumb for the required time to get the numbers. You can just resume your campaign from the save when you go back to it, & continue on.), go back to the challenge page on Halo Waypoint & turn in the challenges. You won't be awarded the cR until the end of the three hour time window though. Ok, now for the technical bit. If you really want to kick the arse out of this & earn some serious cR that will put you way past your daily cR cap. As soon as you turn in your five challenges when they are complete, remake them & do them again. Rinse & repeat this as many times as you can in the three hour time window that began from when you made your first five challenges. In three hours, you're looking at earning a potential 190,000+ cR. But you must not continue past the initial three hours from your first set of challenges. Here's why... Basically you are going to breach the amount of cR that you can earn in one day. So, for the extra cR to stick to your account, you have to not be on Reach at the end of that first initial three hour period. You'll also have to stay off of Reach until the daily cR cap resets the next day. & that's basically all there is to it... it sounds a lot more complicated than what it actually is, but that's just cos I like to be thorough lol At the moment, the daily cR cap is set to 120,000. This is being raised any day now, to an undisclosed figure. So you might be thinking this is a bit of a mute point if the daily cR cap go's up to somthing like 250,000... But here's the thing... I usually only do this campaign set of challenges 2wice a day. It just gets too boring for me to do it for any length of time. So I usually do four Firefight Match Making custom challenges as well. Two for kills & two for medals. Each one will get me 10,000 cR a piece. So... theoretically, if you were to time it right, you could spend a fair bit of your time on Reach just doing what you usually do, working your way up to the daily cR cap with the custom challenges that you like to do. Then for the last three hours, kick the arse out of it on the campaign challenges I mentioned above, & then jump off Reach to play somthing else until the cR cap reset. You could potentially earn a bucket load of cR, if you were so motivated! Incidentally... The original poster of this idea & method reckons you can earn the 23,000 cR in as little as six minutes. I just can't see that, myself. This is why I have rewritten it in the method that I think would be better. Better payouts & better time scaled I reckon... Original Author on Halo Waypoint: UselessOrphan58 EDIT:Ok, just found out they may've nerfed this a bit... i'll update as soon as I know... |

As of this post, this method is still fully functional. Here is a Youtube of the method to use to get the challenges banged out in about six minutes. You will still need the game settings as stated in the OP, & not as shown in this Youtube (skulls, difficulty setting). |
