This was a classic show which I loved tremendously. My favourite Doctor was always Tom Baker (he was the one with the scarf and the Jelly Babies). (Note for those who don't know: Dr stands for doctor) Has anyone been following the new series? I think it's alright so far. Christopher Eccleston makes for a very new kind of Doctor. A lot of people complain he's made the Dr too rude and pushy, but I think he's just gone back to the original character of the first Dr, who was rather like that. Of course unless you're an adult or a big Dr Who fan you probably don't remember the first Doctor ^^; I was also sceptical about Billie Piper being the assistant, but I think she's actually doing a fair job of it. She's certainly staying true to the personalities the other assistants had. Also I was glad to see a Dalek again. How I missed them XD |

The subject managed to change from Business policies to Dr Who in one of my IT lessons this week. My teacher finds it scary apparenly. I think older generations found this show more 'scary' than newer generations for obvious reasons. I've only watched a few before but they were laughable. They were the old ones though, I haven't seen the new series. Some people say it's good others say it's as bad as the last ones. |

Dr Who has always been pretty laughable, I do enjoy it though. I remember there was an entire series set on Earth due to the lack of budget and some of the 'aliens' costumes were made out of spare dish cloths XD Yeah, older generations did find it scarier at one time. But monster movies are out of style now, we're not scared by that kinda stuff anymore. Now people are more scared by psychological horrors. I think how good the series is depends on the actor who's playing the Doctor really. |

XD Definately a classic example of a budget monster. I think the Daleks were probably the most expensive they ever did. The new series seems to have a decent budget this time, which is definately making a difference I think. E.g: the 'last human' who was a piece of skin with eyes and a outh stretched over a frame ^^; She was computer generated. |

I actually saw an episode today, or the second half of it anyway... A church, flying monsters and an interupted wedding and time travel, hmm, interesting. I didn't realise who Dr Who was until the end of the epsisode, he doesn't look like any of them from the older episodes. If anyone saw the episode that was on today in the UK episode there is something that didn't make sense... As I missed the first half, is there any reason why those monsters didn't smash through the church windows instead of scraping at the walls...? |

Yes, that's right ^^.
I missed it all unfortunately. I'll tell you when I've seen the repeat tomorrow. 7pm BBC3 if you want to watch yourself. It's also on at 10 past midnight on BBC3 if you're still awake. |

Ah I see, thank you. If I still want to know I will watch it then, or passed midnight since there will probably be no doubt that I will still be awake. Hmm, maybe I should have used spoiler tags... I will in future. |

Right, I get it now. Hmm, that makes about as much sense as the aliens in those movies that are only destroyed by water. |

I thought it kinda made sense. They were there to correct a problem with time being altered. The doors and windows had been there and stable for a long time, so the creatures, who were looking to destroy newly altered things, couldn't get through them so easily. (On a side note I agree about the things where water kills aliens. For water to kill them they would surely have to come from a place where the atmosphere was not an majority of oxygen and hydrogen and therefore they would not be able to survive on Earth anyway o_O) Edit: So did anyone see Dr Who at the weekend? The 'Empty Child' episode? That's the most disturbing thing I've seen for ages! I've seen horror movies less scary. I can't wait for part two! |

Yep I agree with you there that was scarey, though aparently before the sencor got hold of it it was worse, I think its when Dr who meets the doctor and he sees him change, the sound afects they had there for the head chracking and so forth, even made the sencor just and cringe. so nedles to say they got taken out. |
