Not sure if there's a topic about this...

Topic Focus:
How did you get hooked to your favorite series or in simplier terms,
What's the best thing you like about your favorite anime, game or manga?

Animes...

The best thing I like about Shaman King is the way the neon colors are blended with ordinary hues during the oversoul. Very lovely graphics and the villain is not your usual agressive bad guy.

Yu-Gi-Oh rules because of the intricate design of the monsters and the unique storyline (ie: TCG-based anime is uber cool!) also, it's strange that a young guy is an owner of a huge corporation. All company owners in anime are old already.

What I really love about Medabots is the kawaii robot designs. I would love to keep Rokusho as my partner.

Mangas/Comics...

I love WITCH because it's one of the best comics to hit the Philippines. It's also in a reasonable price and a kawaii art.

Games...

I like most about Shaman King: Power of Spirit is you get to play as the evil bishie Zeke in Versus Mode and his moves are very wickedly hot!

Devil May Cry in 3 words... Smexeh Bishies Rule!

[anime]

Naruto : I saw a person's banners of it at first, But I didn't care. A few months later, I downloaded the first episode. I thought it was kind of boring at first, I continued to download more. It got better and better and as time passed by, I got hooked.

Rurouni Kenshin : I saw violence. I liked it. Other than that, It was pretty cool and funny at the same time.

Rave : When I first saw Haru's sword changed form, I wanted to watch more and to learn more about the swords, plot, storyline etc.

Beyblade : I wasn't into the anime as much as the game at first. When Vforce started, I got hooked because of the 3D Animation. But, I wasn't into Vforce much because of the storyline. I saw the whole season one and got hooked.

[games]

Final Fantasy : I just love RPG's.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time : Same as above.

Naruto : First, I was hooked to the anime. Then, I got hooked to the game too.

Captain Hook always gets us, xD;.

Hagane no Renkinjutsushi / Full Metal Alchemist - One episode was all that it took to get me hooked. The story is extremely engaging and absorbing.. and it's like that to the very last episode. I'm looking forward to the movie, which is going to be released this summer. :3

Gundam SEED: Well, my cousin at first showed me Inuyasha, and then she said it was getting boring a few months back. I wouldn't believe her, and so I asked her to name a better anime, and she had named Gundam SEED. I didn't know how she got to watch it, because Gundam SEED had been licenced before it came to Canada, but she said it was great and that the dub would be on YTV and she gave me the time. I watched the first episode, and went... O.o I found it quite violent, and I was quite reluctant to actually watch it since my idea of "gundam" meant mecha robots blowing each other up, and I never knew that Gundam could actually have a plot. Oh, how wrong I was. So I saw the first episode, fell in love with Cagalli, though I didn't know she was Cagalli at the time XD and kept watching. Second and third episodes, I met the god known as Athrun Zala. ^__^ The rest of the story - when it gets boring, which rarely happens except when Kira *cough* ^^ with Fllay, I just look forward to seeing Athrun-kun again!

While I was watching non-anime cartoons on YTV; Then I notice that Monster Rancher had a linear storyline which caught me into following the show after episode after episode to see what happens next...

I thought Monster Rancher has a lot of entertianment value because mainly of a well writen adventure story, plus the violence and comedy

Slam Dunk.
+ First anime I saw on AXN that was in it's original language. At first I was like, "What the hell?" (being the unexposed fool that I was) but then I watched it for a while and discovered that Sakuragi seemed like an interesting character and the part I saw was so frickin funny! So I kept on watching.

Fushigi Yugi.
+ I saw this one from the very first episode, actually, ten minutes into the first episode. My mom saw it from the very first minute. It seemed good, and then Tamahome came and ... well ... the rest is history. (Until I found out Tamahome was a whipped idiot) Good thing Nuriko came soon. And the beginning was extremely hillarious I had to keep watching.

Vandread.
+ By this time I had made it a goal to watch every episode shown on AXN, and I did. It meant 2 hours in front of the television every weekday. And I saw Vandread. This anime, it was actually the very first line that caught my attention; "Women are demons."

xD Who wouldn't watch after that?! And soon I discovered that I loved Meia, Jura and Barnette supplied much liked Yuri, Dita was just kawaii and the CG is completely amazing! Making this my favourite anime of all time!

Beyblade.
+ My lil bro bought it. Didn't like it at first, thought it was like every other anime where the hero is totally stereotyped (Tai, Ash ... etc) but by the end, Kai came! Yay!

X/1999
This was love at the first sight. I was scrolling trough the site of my anime shop looking for anime titles, and I came across X. There was a picture of the box of the X boxset and when I saw that and the art, I immediately knew I had to have it. I just know that therefor it'll always be my favorite anime. I love the story, the characters, the music, the graphics, simply everything!

Gundam Wing:
This was the first series I was really obsessed about. I started watching it pretty late, when it aired already for a long time, but I got hooked. If there was a chance of missing the episodes, I taped it. Basicly, the story and characters attracted to me, and mainly the message behind the show and the depth of the characters. As I always say, Gundam Wing became like a religion to me.

Fushigi Yuugi
First, this series didn't appeal to me at all. It seemed like such a stereotype of an anime. Somehow, I don't know why, I decided to buy the first season. I loved it, the love relationship between Miaka and Tamahome went too quick I think, but there was so much humor and loveable characters in it that I couldn't stop liking it. The best part would be the storyline and characters.

Beyblade

I just watched the Cartoon Network Adverts and it says they have a new anime called 'Beyblade'. So! I thought I would be able to like and I began watching it, and I thought it was really cool^^.
In the advert clip I was laying my eyes on a mysterious boy with a white scarf<---bet you know who that is

Sailor Moon

This was my very first anime *or Gundam Wing*, but I saw it in Fox Kids and I got in touched with it and I became OBESSESSED *.*

Gundam Wing

Don't know if it was my first anime, but I watched it when I was 10. I to became really obessessed with it. I thought I was the only mad one liking a anime character for the first time in my life *TROWA*. B)

Pokemon

I couldn't miss one episode of it, I watched it thorugly in Sky1 and I just thought it would be a good anime, and it was . In my youth everyone was really obessessed with it in my school eg: trading cards, toys.etc.

Angel Santuary

I don't know how I liked it. AnimeWallpapers have very VERY cool wallpapers and I liked this so-called anime, so I became obessessed when I grabbed info and Setsuna pics

Naruto

I didn't pay much attention to this anime until Mao sended me an anime clip on MSN she made, and I became really in to the anime. That means Sasuke *drools*

YUGIOH

OK! I was defintly a side-show freak*_*. This anime hooked me up and I became Yami obessessed. I first saw it on Nickodelon then I watched the new episodes on Sky1.

That's actually the maximum words I wrote for eternality

Everyone talked about this and at first I thought "no big deal, average anime, bishies, romance, comedy ect." Then I saw it in the shop. I knew I HAD to buy it, I was drawn to it. I read it over and over, I loved it so much that I count the days until the next volumes! ^-^

Beyblade
I was waiting for some stupid show to come on when I was 10, and I had to see the end of beyblade to be sure I'd catch it. I was hooked. It was some battle with Tyson and Kai, I don't remember it too well....But I knew I had to see the episode where Kai and Tyson battle for the championship. I watched it every day, until I finally saw the episode, and didn't stop watching even the re-runs.

Those are the manga and anime that really struck me. ^^

Anime/Manga
Saint Seiya
Well it all started with watching the english dub Knights of the Zodiac, which sucked alot x_____x. I started downloading as much japanese episodes with english subtitles as I could find. Actually I'm currently downloading the OVA's ^^, bittorrent is being though hehe. I also collect the manga now and its really interesting ^^.

I think the biggest reason as to why I like it is because of that I'm so obsessed with mythology and as this whole series deals with that it appeals to me alot. It also helps that Shun is such a cutie =3. And their were some cute yaoi moments and some hot bathing/shower scenes ^_~, yummyness. I find this anime to be my absolute favourite and I personally think that's never gonna change.

Beyblade
Well might as well put this down. It all began when I was around 13-14 years old and I thought it was pretty good and even now I'm obsessed with it =3. Even though V-Force bored me, G-Rev will always make up for it ^^.

Games
Kingdom Hearts
This has to be my favourite game ever. I got it one year for Christmas and I didn't think it would be all that good as Disney was included with Squaresoft/SquareEnix and even though I like Disney I didn't thinkt eh game would be all that good. I think I thought that Sora was cute or something though hehe.

Well I started playing it and got immediately hooked and now I'm really obsessed with it =3, I need to know every little detail and if someone gets something terribly wrong I freak out entirely XD and now with Chain of Memories out I have gotten closer to the game and more obsessed *nods*. Axel-sama and Namine ^^.

Final Fantasy
I just love rpg's and this is my second favourite series, after Kingdom Hearts of course ^^. It really appeals to me and I love how they made the games, these types of games with different classes like white mage, black mage, and all the attacks they use are awesome. And c'mon Moogles are so darn cute =3, so are Chocobo's ^__^.

I also really enjoy the storylines and the battle style of the game =3, also the characterization of each character is superbe and unique to each although their are some similarities such as Selphie to Yuffie or Yuffie to Rikku, etc.
