Dragons are awesome. <3 Your poem is nice... I like it. Kinda has a melancholy feeling to it, but not altogether sad or anything... "pretty," as nessi put it.

FINALLY! AN UPDATE! -the world cheers- It's short... Darn me and my ways.... But anywho Here it is. The chapter is called: Kaji Kori Ryou Kami _ Balkov strode through the halls. "Mihkael! Get Vassikin and Bashkir to go with you and collect data on the group fighting against the MetaliBlades." The said boy with orders nodded. Mihkael was about eighteen and a bit scrawny. Even though he looked small, he was strong and could take down most that got in his way. His hair was a dark shade of brown, but his eyes were bright like the snow. As the teen left and shut the door behind him, balkov sat down and looked up to the screen. 1, 2, 3... "Privyet, Balkov... " The familiar voice and head came up on the screen. "Dobryi vecher, Voltaire." "Do we have the children? Atleast, our four... ?" "Da sir. I have Mihkael with two others collecting data." "Good, Balkov. We finally have the little ones where we want and need them." "Da, sir." Balkov looked over to the other screen that showed the children fighting against the MetaliBlades. Unsuprisingly, they were winning. "We also have video of the battles. If you so wish to see." The man on the screen before him smirked, so very Kai-like in a manner of speaking. "I will, once I get the other data." "Alright sir, I will make sure to send it to you as soon as we have it." "Alright Balkov, do not dissapoint me with such an easy task." And the man's bust disappeared from the screen. though balkov had worked wth Voltaire for all these years, he shuddered. His boss still gave him the creeps at times, especially when he gave that grin. _ "DREZA!" Akira was mad and this was not going to be good. Especially since she called upon her bitbeast. The great black bird erupted forth, wings spread and crying out in such a manner that it was murderous, accompanied by another unknown bitbeast. Masha was going to murder Balkov. Once she got ehr hands on him, he was dead. Dead as dead can be. Noone was getting in ehr way. She called upon her own bitbeast, mimicking ehr younger sister. "LUPINA!" The great shaggy beast of a wolf howled with ablood curling vengence as she came forth ehrself, the ambers eyes set into her face blood thirsty. "The rest of you stand back." The raven haired teen jumped to her sisters side as she called the command over ehr shoulder. "Kaji Kori Ryo Kami!" Both bitbeasts acted as though the skill was all too easy, though it was much harder. _ Flashback _ "Masha!" "Akira!" "Ready?! Recede!" Two small girls called out teh command and the bitbeasts yelled in fury. Dreza, the famous bird from the further most south of all, Hell, receded into just a ball of great black flame shaped like a bird as her Mistress had called. Lupina, the bloodthirsty wolf with a vengence, went back a few evolutions to just like Dreza, and only came back a wolf-shaped ball of ice and snow. "AND COME TO YOUR TRUE FORM! KAJI KORI RYU YAMI!" Both girls were side by side and using their fury to do this. Again, the bitbeasts reacted immediantly. Flame came to ice and they seemed to mold into just a ball of the two elements... Work... Please work... And then, and eruption like no other. Pure, white light arched out ina ll directions. The source of the light was truly great though. A beast, a dragon, of great size and made purely of flame and ice. Instead of the normal two wings, it had four. Its body was lith, but strong, and arched as it reared back and roared. Two horns on its head seemed dangerously close to what one would expect of a bull, but longer and more lethal looking. it's eyes were dark, and wanted blood, clearly seen as you looked at it. Masha and Akira kept their fury, knowing it was feeding the large dragon, even though they mentally cheered themselves for doing such a task. _ End Flashback _ _ And this is the end of the chapter! Okies, and the whole Lupina and Dreza coming together was more less based on when Zeo stole Dranzer from Kai in V-Force... DON'T KILL ME! -hides- Ri. |

As long as the update is nice, it's not much important if it's shorter than others ^^ Anyways, good work. The way you put Balkov and Voltaire using Russian expresions on their "chat" looks nice. Actually, the fusing between Dreza and Lupina doesn't seem quite the same to what happened to Kerberous IMO. These two are fusing together forming a completaly different creature, while what Kerberous did was absorving 2 bit beats and his main look didn't change much. There're stories in other animes, etc, where stuff like that happens though. |

This is the story to the pic in my art topic... But anywho, it's a very cuddly fairy tale/fantasty I had to write... XD... I just went with it and had very little research time considering I had two days to write it... Anywho... Kuro Koneko _ Once, long ago, there was a very busy village. People from all over would come and trade there. Everyone was welcomed, that is, except a small, black kitten. The animal was petite, and hardly a bother at all, but the villagers still despised her. “Out! OUT YOU FILTHY SCAMP!” Nariko dodged a flying katana and scampered down the street as fast as her legs could carry. “And don’t come back!” an angered man continued. Only after she was safely concealed in a bush, did she look back at the angry weapon smith. Grouch, she thought. I only walked by his stall, and it isn’t like his work is that good. With an indignant snort, she stalked out of the bush and into the sunlight (but only after making sure she was unseen by all). Using her small pink tongue and a forepaw, she began to clean that hard spot to get to behind her ears. Just because they don’t like me doesn’t mean I won’t practice proper hygiene. The sound of many horses’ hooves on the dirt road and pangs of hunger made the small kitten quit her bathing. It was samurai. A dozen or so. All of them were garbed in blood red, ebony, and storm cloud grey… colors of the Ishiyama clan. “Welcome members of the Ishiyama clan,” the master of the town as the horses stopped in front of him. “Arigatou nasai, Shigure-san.” replied one. He was handsome, with snow white hair and icy blue eyes. The young man looked well built, and plenty capable of his occupation. The town’s people returned to their tasks at hand after the small silence of wanting to know whom the newcomers were. Nariko, not realizing she was doing so, walked away from her haven, and approached the new comers as they continued their conversation with Shigure. “Suoh Hiyama, so young, and still I have heard so many things of you!” smiled the elderly keeper of the town. The white haired teen nodded. “Though I have seen only seventeen springs, that is true.” Shigure’s smile broadened. “Well, why don’t we return to my home so we can conti-“ He looked down at his sandals. There, looking curiously up at their guests, was the black burden of his town. “You little… How many times must we do this?!” growled the man as he kicked the kitten from his sight and into a nearby shrine’s stone wall. A thump and a high-pitched whimper was all that came. The blue and black garbed town’s keeper bowed apologetically, his large brown eyes asking for forgiveness. And yet, Suoh wasn’t even paying attention to the man. He was watching as the kitten tried in vain to stand, and only fail as she fell back into the dirt. She held up a paw, and looked a bit scratched up. The samurai left the man’s side and approached the small animal. She lay still after more exhausting attempts to stand. Shigure watched, amazed such a powerful being in the society of their times would even look at the small annoyance. “Poor koneko-chan… “ Murmured the young samurai. “Just coming into life, and already, you’re rejected.” Shigure shook in his spot as the infamous Suoh approached. “When we get to your home, may I take care of my new, little tomodachi?” His icy eyes bore into Shigure’s; they showed both utter fury, but patience. “H-Hai!” the older man squeaked, for he was so terrified. Suoh, now alone with the kitten, set to caring for the injuries of which Shigure had inflicted upon her. “What shall I name you, koneko-chan? Surely, you can’t keep that title forever…” He made a mental note to name her as he set to bathing the small animal. Surprisingly, she held still as he placed her in the small tub of water and began to clean her, and even seemed to enjoy the warm water and the gentle caresses. “Such a sweet natured thing you are…” His cold demeanor stayed, though he was rather glad to have helped the poor kitten. With a warm towel and a place by the hearth, he began to dry her and brush her out. Then came the bad part; the injured paw and gashes. “Hold still little one.” He muttered and touched her sensitive forepaw. Rearing back, the kitten hissed and swiped at his hand. “Easy, easy…” He held her steady and comforted her; soothing her with soft touches and caresses, murmuring comforting things in her pointy, furry ear. The kitten eventually calmed, thankfully to him, who had a few minor scratches on his hands and forearms. Upon noticing this, the kitten licked his hand apologetically and regretfully. “Daijoubu…” Suoh told her, letting the poor creature know he wasn’t angered by the marks she’d given him. “Here’s where you will be staying, Hiyama-san.” Bowed the servant of Shigure’s. Suoh thanked her and entered the large room. There was a lit brazier in the middle of the room to keep it heated on a cold night like tonight, a futon mattress, and a chest for any of the clothing he may need to store. Beside the mattress was a small table with Suoh’s and the kitten’s dinner for the night. “Well, Little One, let’s get you fed and resting…” he stated as he sat down on the seat pillow. The meal was quick, for he was weary and wanted to get to bed quickly. “Well, someone was hungry.” The older man chuckled as the kitten devoured the small piece of fish and licked the small bowl of milk clean. “Yes, very hungry… But it is time for bed Little One.” He lay down on the bed, putting the small kitten with him and raising her above him. “I have a name for you, Little One… Aiko, little beloved.” A smirk crossed his lips swiftly, but did not stay. Weariness took over the look and he laid the kitten beside him, thus placing his katana by his side incase he needed it, rolled over, and fell into slumber. Suoh felt a warm hand touch his cheek. Instincts and a rush of fight adrenaline woke his system completely. His hand shot for the katana by his side, and years of fighting had his sword at the person’s throat in an instant. A quick intake of breathe was heard and he knew he was giving the orders now. “Dare to move…” he whispered, knowing that the person knew what would happen if they disobeyed. With a quick hand, he flicked more coal into the brazier so he could have more light to identify his intruder. Light crept up as the flames rose and he saw the person, or should he say thing. A girl sat beside him, looking at him fearfully, but that wasn’t the point that was supposed to get through. She had cat ears and a tail. The ears were turned back at an angle of which you saw a cat cower with, and her tail’s tip was the flicking nervously. “Onegai shimasu,” She begged, in a voice that was too soft and sweet to be human. “I meant no harm…” “Ja, what did you intend to do?” He snapped, never removing the blade, even though he felt pity and guilt build within him for frightening the creature. She looked down at her hands, which he noticed had inhumanly long nails, claws almost. “I only wanted to talk to you.” He snorted indignantly. “And why not come to me in the daylight… When you wouldn’t make me attack you?” The pitiful look in her amber-green eyes made him regret being so harsh, even though his character were so brooding usually. “Her name… Her name is Nariko.” The girl said quietly. “Whom’s?” He asked, wondering who she talked of. “The kitten’s… Her name is not Aiko, it’s Nariko… And that is the name she was born with.” Came the even softer reply. His eyes narrowed. “Nariko is a human name, why call a pet such a thing?” “She is human… Well, used to be human… ” The voice was so faint now, her reply was almost inaudible. Now, his eyes widened slightly. “What do you mean?” “When Nariko was little, she had no family, for they abandoned her because she had ears and a tail resembling a cat’s... And everywhere she went, people judged her because of her scruffiness and her oddities, never getting to know her and almost pushing her away.” A tear rolled down the creature’s cheek. “The Maneki Neko took pity on her and turned her into a kitten, so her ears and tail would be natural… But, she was still turned away because of her being so small and having black fur. They saw this as a sign from Maneki Neko instead of a gift. Her black fur meant bad luck, and her skinniness meant famine and bad crops. So, again they rejected her. They didn’t understand… He made her black as to ward away evil… And her small body, it was only to have them feel pity and take Nariko in.” The mention of the great, neko god of luck made Suoh feel suspicious, for he had taken her in and she was still a kitten. “But, then why hasn’t she changed back?” “Because, she was supposed to be taken in by these people… And until they take her in, she will remain so… For years, I have prayed to Maneki Neko to let Nariko become human again, but he refuses… He wants these people to see their actions are not right. That they shouldn’t shun a child because of their looks, but take them in because of her innocence.” The girl’s tail flicked and wrapped itself about her wrist. “And does he not see that they are hurting her?” The icy eyes were now bright, and full of malice towards the god. The girl sighed. “He does, but, he cannot change the will of the people. And he wants them to see…” “How do you know all of this?” The question suddenly popped into Suoh’s mind. “Because… Because I am Nariko.” Suoh awoke with a start. He was looking up at the ceiling of his room and felt the sun on his back. Sitting up, he looked around for Aiko. The kitten lay curled next to his pillow. “Aiko,” He gently stroked her fur, waking the kitten. “I had an odd dream about you.” She looked up at him with quizzical eyes; amber-green, just like the girl’s from last night. Startled, he looked for his sword. It was exactly where he had left it the night before he went to bed, sheathed and ready if he may need it. And the brazier! Not a coal had been added! The young man shrugged it off and went to find Shigure, and talk to him. “Shigure-san! Come here!” Suoh called as he spotted the man running about his town. “Suoh-san!” The man exclaimed and walked briskly up to him. “Hello! How are you this morning?” “Fine, but that’s not what I wanted to talk of…” Suoh was not in the mood to play quoi with this man. “The koneko, why do you hate her?” Suoh had left the kitten alone in his room, as she play with a ball of thread that had been found by own of the servants. “Why the little beast? Because! Obviously, Maneki Neko had sent her as a warning for us! She shows us that we are going to have a famine soon! AND that is not good! We must rid of her…” Shigure spoke bluntly about the kitten, knowing he should tell the samurai before bad luck had also befallen him. “And how do you know that?” snapped a now angered Suoh. “Well, she comes in the form of a cat… And her scrawniness!” The town’s keeper defended himself. “Did you ever talk to a Priest, or a monk? Ask them for what the animal would mean?” Angered, icy eyes met Shigure’s. “Iie.” The response was meek. “I suggest you do… “ Snorted an indignant Suoh. “Well, Kinomiya-san…” Priest Takkun stated, a seven suns after Suoh had confronted Shigure. “You were wrong, and by no means needing to hurt the poor creature… She has no evil aura, in fact, hers is that of good fortune… You know, Maneki Neko uses black cats as charms to ward off evil… “ The man nodded vigorously and took the cat from the offering priest’s hands. “She is such a sweet creature, whatever made you think otherwise?” The young priest asked. The man bowed his head, for he was blushing in shame. “I… I judged the kitten.” “Well, we all make mistakes… But, why would you think she brings misfortunes, when from what I’ve seen and heard, your village is in full health and your crops well… How long has she been here?” “About four seven suns… “ Replied the man. “Well… Since you now have my words, and I have my pay, I must be gone once more.” Takkun stood, bowed to Shigure and then to Suoh, and headed for his leave. Shigure turned to face Suoh, who now held little Aiko. “Gomen nasai, Suoh-san…” “Do not apologize to me, apologize to her.” Suoh sat the kitten before the man, and she mewed softly. The man sighed, and bowed fully to the kitten. “Gomen nasai, Koneko-chan… We al judged you, but obviously, we were wrong. Please, accept my apologies and accept us accepting you.” Suoh watched as the kitten lay on his bed. She had not yet turned back. And thus, that worried him. But that was Maneki Neko’s way, whether she was to change back or not. Not his. So, the young samurai lay in his bed once again, knowing that tomorrow he was to be awoken early and they were leaving for his Lord had sent word that the samurais were to return. “Oyasumi, Aiko…” A buzzing against Suoh woke the man earlier than he was supposed to. Looking over his shoulder, he saw a small body laying besides him in a cotton yukata. The robe hung loose in some places, making the figure look childishly cute. Turning over now, he saw the black ears and a tail. The familiar black hair. Pale skin, and the almond shaped eyes. “Nariko?” The voice stirred the girl, and made her yawn. Looking around, for the source of the voice, her amber-green eyes opened and met his icy ones. “Suoh-sama… “ The girl looked shocked for a moment, and then hugged him fiercely. The young samurai returned the slight gesture of affection, holding his little koneko close. “Are you still going to leave me?” She whispered faintly in his ear, knowing he was leaving today. “No, I’m taking you with me…” Suoh lay under the shade of the sakura tree, humming a soft tune as his katana lay beside him. His Lord had called them home, but only for he missed the general’s company. Nariko lay besides him, her head resting on his lap as if it were her pillow. A small smile touched his lips, and he fondled her furry ear slightly. “Ai shiteru, Koenko-chan…” _ And that, is it's end! |
