I think the reason why the Animorphs TV show bombed was because they didn't have enough money for graphics. If they had done it as a cartoon then they wouldn't have had that problem. But the ANdilites rarely showed up and when that happened they were some cheezy animatronics. Then they totally messed up what the yeerks looked like. They covered up the morphing scenes as much as possible and they didn't even stay true to the battle morphs that the characters used. All of this points to cheezy graphics and no appreciation for the actual storyline.

Goodness, I remember this from ages ago... Yes, the morphing was rather covered up. It must've cost a lot to produce, then wasn't done all that brilliantly. I guess they couldn't justify continuing it ^^;

Doing some animation or books would have been better ^^;

I love reading Animorphs books. It sounds just like Bloody-roar. But it's bad that it did not turned out so well. Sadly.

whenever anything goes from book to visual. its a big risk because sometimes it can spoil what you imagine in books. it can be completely different to what you imagined it to be, wether its the special effects or how the characters act in general. it doesnt suprise me that it failed as a show. its not the kind of book to tv transition i would expect.

Wow! Those books take me back! o.O

I remember the show too. I think the morphing technology was rather limited back then too.

See? See? I actually have a point?

And I didn't like the way that the series ended. "Marco ram the blade ship." And it just CUT'S OFF! I don't like it.

I got a fic up my sleeve, just begging to be written. It would be a StarTrek Next Generation/DS9/Animorphs crossover, where the Prophets bring the Animorphs back to life and to the Star Trek Universe to do their bidding. The Enterprise runs into them on the way to DS9. They get taken aboard, badly injured. The enterprise studies their ship, the Rachel. The Animorphs are 14 again and Rachel is actually alive. Tobias is human, all the typical anifan gripes. (giggles) And Picard thinks that Q did it. So when Q actually shows up he says, "It wasn't me, mon capitan. it was the stupid worm hole folk!" Of course, the whole timeline would be rearranged. A sixth animorph, plus James and his two luitenants. It would be SO fun! (giggles)

I did an animorphs/beyblades croosover on fanfiction.net. If anybody wants to read it I can post the link in this topic.

Apparantly the morphing process took six months... which I guess is a long time, and a lot of cost, especially when they're morphing all the time...

:lol:

I actually didn't think the ending was that bad, I mean, at least Applegate didn't pretend that they would have been able to melt back into real-life easily... I think she was right to do that, any ending wouldn't have satisfied the fans, it would have either been to "happy" or too unrealistic... :lol:

Oh, and I would love to read that fic! :D

BUT THEY DIED!!! And I'm currently grounded, so the fic will take awhile. (sigh) and I gotta do more star trek research to do it. Does anybody know the name of the cardassian tailor on DS9. (giggles) He's funny. And I wanna have him walk in on one of the morphing sequences. (sigh)
